Can’t say enough good things about this shoe store. They’re so good with the kids - sizing them properly, etc. it’s a quick and easy experience shopping here every time. Especially for people with wide feet.
We just got our new shoes for back to school yesterday and salesperson Pam helped with finding just the right shoe.
The prices are the same as online or the big stores, why not shop here and get high quality customer service and support a local business!

Growing up near Lexington, our family has gotten dozens of shoes at Michelson's over the years. As soon as my son was born, my mom talked about bringing him to Michelson's for his first pair of shoes.
Happy to say our experience lived up to our warm memories! Noah was so kind, calm and patient. He measured my son's foot precisely and found some adorable and well-made sneakers. Best of all, no tears!

Michelson's would be our go to shoe store moving forward. We took our 2yr-old to get fitted and the associates where kind and on point with her. And let me add that they where closing Iess than 10mins. They still had a smile on for her, and did everything to make her experience worth wild. You can always tell when a business is family owned and cares about there customers.

Small business = great service! Having grownup in Lexington, Michaelson's was a fixture and they still are today! The reason why? Great service, attentive to getting kids, and adults, the right footwear, and did I say great service? The are happy to measure foot size manually, rather than you standing on some sort of "sizer" at other stores

Michelson’s has been wonderful. We went there as my son was learning to walk, and they fitted him immediately and recommended shoes for new walkers. Many people might not know that babies and toddlers who are new walkers need a specific softness to the shoe. They were very knowledgeable and provided a personalized service that you can’t get online, or at big retail stores. Now that he has outgrown those shoes we did an over the phone consult (because they are currently closed in store, due to Covid-19) and they looked up his previous info, and made great recommendations. We have a very picky 6 year old who needs his shoes super tight but not too tight. The people at Michelson's were great! They took him to look at shoes, suggested ones they thought fit his tastes and we were out of there in 20 minutes! Not any more expensive than buying online either. We will be going there for all our shoes from now on. We highly recommend this store.

Your salesman recommended that we buy sneakers for our 4 year old grandson that has a knob that you turn that moves strings to tighten or loosen the fit rather than just Velcro. When I said we preferred to get the regular sneaker with Velcro he wouldn't just get us what we wanted. We had a verbal battle. I noticed that you have a lot of reviews that show customers that had poor customer service experiences. Why don't you do something about this!!

I had a very uncomfortable experience in this store. I was a first time customer and it will definitely be a one time experience for me. The employees of this store take customer service to the extreme, to a point where it crosses over a line and is not helpful, but overbearing and suffocating. If you ask someone if they need/want help, and they politely decline, listen to them. Don't force your unwanted "help" on them because it will only escalate the situation. I wish I had known about this place years ago. My daughter has sensory issues and other things that make shoe shopping in other shoe stores very difficult. This place is amazing, they were so patient with her, knowledgeable, helpful, and VERY reasonably priced! This will be my GO TO place from now on, wow, I highly recommend this place!

We bought shoes a few months ago. They were worn a few times and caused severe blisters, requiring treatment by a physician. Today we tried to return or exchange the shoes because they are unsuitable. When they were purchased, they were recommended by the salesperson. Today, one of the owners of the store was unwilling to exchange them or give us a store credit. His response was basically, "oh well, tough luck". And then he asked if he could sell us another pair of shoes. I am very disappointed by the lack of customer service. I would never recommend this store. Horrible place.

I took my 3-year old in and was helped immediately. I felt the itch to peruse the merchandise first but simply described what I was looking for and he appeared with great options. My daughter was captivated by his attention to fitting her needs and allowed her to run throughout the store testing them out. We were in and out in lightning speed with 2 pairs of shoes she's worn nearly every day for a year, and they held up wonderfully.

I went in here with a friend and she was the one who wanted to buy sperry's (I just accompanied her). When we first went in, within a few seconds, an employee asked us for her. At first, we declined offer and walked around to look some more. Finally, we saw the sperry's that she liked and she asked for assistance. Soon afterwards, an old man came to our help, sat her down and brought 2 pairs of shoes (one size that she requested and one 1/2 a size larger, without her asking too!). Being from Boston, I'm used to popping into an overcrowded shoe store with two employees, trying desperately to find my size (I usually don't because my feet are rather small), and having no luck finding my size in the back room.
Michelson's was fairly crowded for a small town shoe store on a Monday afternoon, but they had a lot of employees to handle the crowd. All of them were helping other customers when I walked in, so I started browsing. I found a pair of Sperry Top-Siders

An old-school shoe store staffed by actual grown men who know their stock and know how to properly fit children and adults for shoes. We took my daughter there to get some sneakers -- we hadn't been in the door 5 seconds before a young man offered to help us. A paragon of patience, he spent a good 15 or 20 minutes with us before a decision was reached. He was honest to a fault:
"Hmmm, those Merrills tend to run a little narrow. They won't fit your daughter's feet."
"These shoes aren't as roomy -- your daughter will outgrow them too soon."
