I would describe myself as a supportive, encouraging therapist, and I enjoy helping children and families develop skills to help reduce anxiety, improve relationships, and navigate life transitions. I often empower clients to develop the skills necessary to self-regulate, set and achieve goals, and improve self-esteem.
I realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
I would describe myself as empathetic and engaging. I enjoy helping children, teens, and their families develop skills and providing them with tools to help them grow. I believe in empowering clients to help them work through their anxiety, improve self-esteem, and adapt to major life changes. My goal is to help my client build the self-confidence and learn skills to deal with change and conquer challenging situations.
In my work with children, kids often express feelings of being "different" because of anxiety, worry, or feeling isolated from peers due to differences beyond their control. These feelings are completely real for children, yet, kids often do not have the words to describe how they feel. This is why my work with children often incorporates play therapy, sandtray therapy, and other creative approaches to support my work with children.
So many books and movies explore the theme of coming of age for good reason. This period of life is notoriously challenging and is often full of confusion, worry, and feeling overwhelmed. During this time when the world around you begins to expand, it can be helpful to have a supportive, nonjudgmental person to share your thoughts and feelings with as you work toward your goals.
