I called them one day before I go to this shop, and let them know what what car I have to change my front brakes pads. They told me that they can fix my car at 8am, so I went there to change my brake at 8am. I almost waited 2 hours 30 minutes but they didn't finish brake change work because they didn't prepare brake parts for my car even though I called them and gave them information about my car. I just wasted almost 3 hours for nothing. I only asked them for front brake pads change but they turend the rotors and charged me 207 bucks. It was worst experience I've ever had. They

Let me tell you this place is what you dream of if you ever have vehicle issues, especially if you're out of town.
So, late night, my work vehicle ran over something that basically ripped the bottom protective plastic sheet from under my vehicle, I drove to work the next day with the plastic scraping underneath and people could hear me coming from a block away. Quality work at fair prices. That's what you want from an auto repair shop. I did the first review (FTR) for Royal Auto Repair in 2008, and it's time to post an update. Back in May 2008, it was a muffler job on a Saturday for a 1996 Honda Civic. Fast-forward to Sept 2021, and I needed new brake pads for my 2020 Tacoma pickup truck. Brought the truck in, and it was done in about 2 hours. Great job and a fair price.

Do not waste your time here. I made an appointment two weeks ago only to be told halfway through the day that they were not able to get a hold of their technician. $50 in uber and losing a day of work, I kindly asked if I could be reimbursed or receive a discount on my next appt. Instead I was met with "why would I reimburse you? I was doing you a favor" from Craig, the owner. Disrespectful and absolutely unprofessional.

These guys were fabulously awesome. I went at 8am on a Saturday. Craig (boss man I think). He explained it was half day for them so most likely would not be able to look at my car till Monday..The Stability Control light was on. He Explained it was safe to drive around town till Monday. I came back Monday. First of all the diagnostic test was only $75. I recently had tires rotated and wheels aligned. Well nothing showed on the exam and they couldn't reset the dash light and only charged $50. So many others would not have been morally considerate..I'm new to Alameda.they will surely be my go to

Engine warning light came on. They accepted me to go round within 10 muns. They checked the computer. Even checked what the code was telling them on the car. Couldn't find a problem reset the engine warning light. Explained what to look out for. Excellent service. I would recommend these guys to anyone on Alameda.

Over the years, Royal Auto Repair has kept my classic 1956 Chevy Bel Air in great shape Betsy's latest issue was with her carburetor; the choke stuck and it was difficult to start. Craig rebuilt the carburetor but, unfortunately, one key component was worn and and was not replaceable. I researched refurbished carburetor sellers and found one in SOCAL I ordered one and soon thereafter delivered it to Craig. In spite of the seller's 5 star rating, this one had an internal vacuum leak, causing a very rough idle. I returned it for a replacement. The third time was a charm! Betsy starts

Incredible service beyond expectation. When my emergency roadside assistant told me my car wasn’t drivable, I found this place nearby where I live. All it took was phone call — they accepted my request for my car to be towed there. In less than 24 hours, they fixed the main thing and found additional issues. They called me for permission to fix more things, which they finished in just a few hours. Royal Auto Repair truly gave me the “wow, that’s incredible” moment. The price was reasonable as well. I had previously took my car to get a tire patch at a different shop were the men were basically trying to hit on me and tried to make me leave my car there all day. I left very disturbed and disgusted.
I came here to Royal Auto Repair and the guy who approached me was VERY professional. He even took off my tire to look for the nail versus the other shop I went to were the man made me get on the floor to show him the nail...
I will definitely come back here if I need to get my tire checked!! Thank you for keeping it professional!!

5/5 Same Day Oil and Car Check
I have been loyal to another autoshop for awhile but they were only open on weekdays. I always had to take off work early and then uber home and back when my car was finished with an oil change.
I recently took a morning stroll on a Saturday Morning and noticed this shop was open. The guy working said he could take my car in and have the oil change and do a check of the car by noon. I only live 7 houses away from this place.
I dropped my car off by 830 and received a call by 1115 that it was was ready for pick up.

Royal Auto Repair has been working on my truck for a few years now. Servicing and general maintenance. They are the BEST! Very easy to work with and I have not ever had an unsatisfactory experience. These guys are absolutely amazing! As a young female, it is hard to walk into a shop and not get taken advantage of. I have taken my car here for a couple things and they have been upfront with everything, show me pictures, or even allow me to come into the garage and see exactly what is wrong. They are upfront with their prices, and the price does not change. They do not do anything without my permission and then charge me for it. They even worked with me on drop off and pick up due to my crazy work schedule. I can not recommend these guys enough!!

Craig and his mechanics are hard-working and extremely honest people. The business is fixing cars and no hype. These guys are very trustworthy. I took my family car (Mazda5 Minivan) to them for strut replacement and a noise coming from the front end. Craig and his mechanic Kevin troubleshot the problem with the noise and finally after 2 previous trips to the dealer, found the problem and replaced worn control arm bushings. The car now drives and sounds great. I recommend this shop.

I live in the neighborhood and I have liked the convenience of basic repairs and maintenance done close to home. They give quick phone quotes and handle basic car issues professionally. Most recently I brought my Infiniti there with stuttering power issue. They read the codes and didnt know how to fix it. So they returned it to me in same condition asking me for $90 diagnosis fee. My sisters car broke down outside of the tube in Alameda. We didn't know where else to take it to drop off so we decided to try Royal Auto again in case the last time was just an "off" time. Craig took care of us and got her up and running in a very short time. He replaced a water pump, did an oil change and did her brakes in just 2 days. Awesome!! Five stars! The mechanics went above and beyond to service my vehicle. I fully expected to need a new battery (only a year old but I only drive short distances); they checked its health, charged it back up and only asked $10 for service.
I appreciate their honesty - they could've gotten more money by replacing the battery as I wouldn't have known any better. 10/10 won my trust and I'll be back if I have any car issues!
