Brooklyn Bedding produces everything to do with beds, from mattresses to slatted frames to sheets. The company was founded in 1995 with its first traditional mattress and launched its mattress-in-a-box products in 2008 - which is relatively early compared to other prominent companies.

There are now six mattress models, all hybrids, ranging in price from $1,124 for a queen-size mattress in the Brooklyn Signature, the base model, to $2,399 for a queen-size mattress in the top-of-the-line Brooklyn Sedona.I tested the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid as it is the company's best-selling model.
