Our mission is to enable our clients to live independently and safely in their own home for as long as possible. A recent survey commissioned by AARP found that over 90% of those age 65 and older want to remain in their current residence for as long as possible. In-home care assists the elderly in achieving that goal and provides many emotional and financial advantages for those who can no longer live alone without outside assistance.
Elder Care has provided peace of mind care for our clients and family members in Kansas and Missouri since 1987. Marilyn Maize founded Elder Care when she needed assistance with her aging parents. Marilyn's daughter, Robbin Gardner, joined the company a few years later and, together, they developed the company into one of Kansas City's premier, locally-owned and operated home care companies.

Services
Most of our clients need assistance with those daily tasks that many of us take for granted. Our Caregivers are trained to provide compassionate care to those who need help with those personal activities such as bathing, grooming and dressing as well as toileting and incontinent care. A common issue with aging adults is a lack of companionship and social interaction.
Thank you so much for taking such good care of my mom, and the donation to Wayside Waifs in her name. Your kindness was greatly appreciated. Having a caregiver from Elder Care has helped give me peace of mind because my mother is now diagnosed with Alzheimer's and not safe to be in the home by herself.
Hospice care is focused on caring - not curing. In the vast majority of cases, hospice care takes place in the patient's home. A multi-disciplinary team consisting of a nurse, a home health aide, a social worker and a counselor typically are assigned to each hospice patient. The hospice team prepares a care plan that meets the patient's needs for pain management and symptom control.
Medicare typically does not cover the type of services provided by non-medical home care agencies. Medicare will pay for certain services performed by a Medicare-certified Home Health Agency under certain circumstances. Physical therapy to help the patient regain function such as walking following a hip or knee surgery.
During the initial call, we will discuss the general needs of you or your loved one as well as answer any questions that you may have. At this time we will also schedule a free in-home Assessment and Safety Evaluation where we discuss the level of care needed in more detail and assess the home for safety issues.

Elder Care of Kansas City is the best in-home nursing service in the greater KC area. Look no further.
I recently found myself in a position of having to provide in-home nursing care for my wife while she was in the final stage of battling cancer in a hospice-at-home setting. Kevin, Elder Care’s owner, personally called my son-in-law right back after the latter left a message. Kevin committed to a credentials and capabilities presentation the very next day. We were all highly impressed with it, so we asked for an agreement ASAP. Elder Care immediately scheduled in-home nursing coverage for the

My family was pleased with Elder Care. Julie was the nurse that cared for our mother. She was trustworthy, kind, and helpful and alerted us when mom needed more extensive care. I would highly recommend her. We only wished we could have had grocery runs and more meals cooked for our mother because she ended up losing weight. Her insurance would not pay for the grocery shopping, so that was not something Elder Care could really help. All in all very good service.
