If you're between the ages of 24 to 65, chances are good you've had a cavity. And, like many other Americans, the chances are also good that your filling was made of grey metal amalgam - those silver fillings you can see in your mouth when you smile or laugh. At one point, these fillings were your only option if you needed a filling, so it's very likely that if you're over the age of 30, you have at least one of those old amalgam fillings.
A dental crown is a cap, made from porcelain or metal, that your dentist places over a tooth in order to protect that tooth or improve its appearance. Your dentist may recommend a crown if you have had a root canal procedure performed, if your tooth has been weakened by a large cavity, or if your tooth has a serious chip or discoloration that detracts from its appearance.
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, breaks, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling. There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

I've been a patient of Dr Chaiklin for 10 years now and haven't been comfortable letting anyone touch my mouth since. I have had extensive work done with Dr Chaiklin and he is very gentle and has options for people with anxiety about the dentist like I do. I had all my crowns and root canals done by him and the results were amazing no one could even tell they weren't my real teeth. He's great all around In general dentistry and cosmetic and him and his wife have always treated me like family. My sister and brother in law also go to him!

Just got a tooth extraction here and can't be happier with my experience. This was my first time here so I was asked to come in a few minutes to do some paperwork. The Doctor is very easy going and put my mind at ease. I'm kind of a sissy when it comes to dentists but he explained everything thoroughly and pulled a pre molar which barely had any tooth left in no time. I was amazed at how fast he was able to pull it. Pricing wasn't sky high either. I will def be coming back here in the future.

Dr. Chaiklin and his staff were absolutly wonderful. They reduced my nerves throughout the whole process and explained everything. Best of all I was a walk-in patient and he was able to remove 2 wisdom teeth and a cyst same day! Highly recommend!!

No one likes the dentist. That said, Dr. Chaiklin makes the experience easier. Professional and personable from the doctor to the staff. I drive an hour+ to see him vs. the dentist I have down the road from me.

Dr. Chaiklin is a kind, energetic dentist but his techniques for filling in a cavity needs to be upgraded. My boyfriend went to see him and twice he ended up needing a root canal after he consulted several other dentists. The other dentists indicated that both times the filling was filled in incorrectly. He went back to Dr. Chaiklin to have it fixed and after the 3rd try Dr. Chaiklin could not correct the issue that was causing intense pain every time he eat and drank cold liquids. He has a great staff but he's not careful when he performs these procedures, in the past I've had to revisit
