We operate in a custom built commercial bakery and are fully licensed, health inspected & insured. All of our cakes are custom ordered during your pre-scheduled design & tasting session; meaning there will be no rushing or interruptions at our sessions.

Services
All cakes are made fresh, never frozen, from scratch using only the finest ingredients available. We have selected a Swiss meringue buttercream, made from 100% butter and never compromised with added shortening, as our house icing for its unsurpassed taste and stability. Our bakery uses pure vanilla, natural vanilla beans, imported cocoa for flavoring.
Start from scratch first with the architectural aspects of your cake. How many tiers? Do you want a super high double barrel cake? A tall cake? A short cake? We will have dummy cake rounds for you to play with to find the exact structure for your cake so there will be no room for unexpected surprises on your wedding day.

We were so pleased with our wedding cake! Karen was able to help us really narrow down a simple, modern, yet still playful design when i was so indecisive! All I knew was I wanted white on white with hints of gold! And she nailed it! I cannot say enough that our cake tasted better that I even remember it did at the tasting! The flavors are to die for! We were so lucky to have her make our beautiful 5 layer cake with a mix of a square and rounds in different sizes come to life! I will definitely be using her again! From the first time we met with Karen we knew that we had made the right choice for our daughter's wedding cake. HI everyone I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Karen and Cakes in Art. I had been planning my nieces wedding for 2 years, due to Covid. And I thought I had everything planned and ready. It was approximately a month until her memorial day wedding, and I checked in with our original bakery. Well, they told me they could no longer handle our order. I went into panic mode. I live in Jersey and the wedding was in Stafford, Va. Karen’s cakes are AMAZING! There were so many delicious flavors to chose from and she had lots of suggestions for designs. I had been trying to find a cake that incorporated the flowers I wanted, but hadn’t been successful. She made a few suggestions and we were able to come up with a design that included them and it turned out amazing. You will not be disappointed!

Look at this cake! Karen’s work really speaks for itself. The flowers on the cake are all edible, hand crafted, and look just as realistic in person as they do in this photo.

I’ve known Karen for nearly fifteen years and always dreamed about her making my wedding cake. I was thrilled that she was available on our wedding date to make our cake – it was stunning and we are still receiving compliments on it! Working with Karen to design our cake was a very smooth process. She is great at making recommendations and offering advice but does so objectively. For instance, we weren’t sure if we wanted buttercream or fondant, fresh flowers or sugar flowers. Also, who doesn’t love cake tasting…so fun and delicious! Working with cakes in art was a fantastic experience. It was a little different arriving to a house as a opposed to a standard bakery store front but I quickly fell in love with the full blown industrial kitchen and beautiful set up they have, including it's own private entrance. It actually felt much more personal and special having our tasting and selection in this kind of setting. She even had us use these cute little tasting forks for the samples. Karen is extremely knowledgeable and a blast to work with. The only hard part was choosing the flavor because literally ALL of her cakes tasted delicious

The experience I had with Cakes in Art was absolutely phenomenal. Karen did a 3 tier wedding cake for my husband and I. She nailed it! It was perfection! Cake in Art made my dream wedding cake come to life! Karen is an amazing artist, who has an eye for detail! She is well experienced and knows her stuff. She even offers gluten free options, and has delicious flavors as well. Our wedding cake had five tiers and included two flavors, dulce de leche and a lemon raspberry. The flavors are to die for! Karen did my wedding cake and it was both gorgeous and incredibly tasty! I brought Karen three separate pictures showing the different elements I wanted and she understood everything with just one conversation. She also said the number of guests we were having was in between two tier sizes so she made it larger than we ordered just to make sure we had enough. Even with an oversized cake, every single piece got eaten and multiple people came up to say they had two slices. Karen did an exceptional job with our cake.
