Here at Sun Studio Tanning, we offer 2 full service tanning salons located in the cities of Placentia and Yorba Linda. We provide 3 different categories of tanning which include UV tanning beds, sunless tanning, and red light therapy. We opened our first business, Max Muscle of La Mirada back in 2001.
We were a full service nutrition store that also offered tanning services. Our tanning got so big that we moved it out and opened a full service tanning salon in same center. In 2005, we created a modern chic atmosphere named Sun Studio Tanning in Placentia, CA. Taking its name from the European tag for tanning salon, Sun Studio took conventional tanning to the next level.

High pressure tanning is the quickest way to get maximum color! When used in combination with conventional tanning packages, high pressure sessions will enhance your tan -- making it deeper, darker and a more luxurious bronze! In high pressure beds, members can start off with the maximum 15-minutes their very first visit.
With our mid pressure tanning beds, members start off at a lower tanning time (similar to the low pressure beds), gradually building their tanning tolerance. Sun Studio offers 12-minute mid pressure lay down beds equipped with high pressure facial and shoulder lamps, as well as an 8-minute standup tanning solution (NO TAN LINES!).
With Mystic Tanning, members will look 1-2 shades darker in a single 60-second tanning session. Sun Studio offers 3 levels of Mystic Tanning in order to meet the needs of all clients. First time tanner. My visit was 5/2021.
I found the place to be clean and the employee that greeted and assisted me to be very friendly.
I was a bit apprehensive about sanitization and other precautions.
I left feeling that they did a good job keeping things clean and taking visible care to assure client safety.

I had gotten the Groupon deal for a month unlimited tanning. When I arrived to use it the female at the front was very nice and asked if I wanted to upgrade to a high pressure bed for the month. I did upgrade from the Groupon package it was $22 to upgrade. The Groupon was only $23 so with the upgrade it was still less then a month unlimited plan which they charge $95.
The salon is clean and usually has a nice person to greet you as you arrive and leave. I started slow with only a few minutes a day until I was on using the tanning bars at full time. The cost of tanning lotions are just like any

Very clean and very professional salon. I've never had a problem getting into the bed I want and rarely have to make an appointment. I left my magnetic lashes there today after tanning. I was bummed because they're not cheap. Jaden made sure she saved them for me....how many other people would've just tossed them? I'm always impressed with the friendliness of the employees and if you have ANY questions about lotions, they're experts. Affordable, clean, professional, and above and beyond friendly. I highly recommend!!!

LOVED THIS STUDIO!! I went in with the hopes of getting a base tan for my upcoming trip in 2 weeks. With being in quarantine for the last several months my worry was I would burn. I explained my situation to Brianna who put together an amazing tanning plan for me. She was so friendly and was extremely knowledgeable about all the services. The studio was clean, and all the beds were up to date and easy to use! I highly recommend this studio!

I am such a big fan of Sun Studio. I have been tanning with them since a previous location and only stopped because I moved for work temporarily.
The staff here is both friendly and very knowledgeable on the lotions and various services they offer. This is important because this is a key part in getting and maintaining a year round glow. They sell high quality lotions with a good variety that can be hard to find at other places. The price may seem a bit high on some but remember that this is for your skin and quality skin products are an investment - I appreciate that not one of the ladies working

Really great experience here at the Placentia location. Very clean(and i am a covid-phobe) salon and proper protocols were adhered to from what I could see. The woman working the front desk was extremely knowledgeable and efficient in outlining what I needed to know and how to use the booth. I got a mystic spray and it was applied with an even stream and developed perfectly.

So a few months back I looked for a tanning salon nearby, found 1 won't mention it's name, but I bought a 30 day high pressure pass. I went probably 20 times and not once did I feel like I was tanned. So I ended up driving passed this new tanning studio and decided to stop in for a mystic tan, WOW! Nice clean MODERN UPGRADED TANNING SALON IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD I got a mystic tan which was new n updated sprayed in sections and spray was warm NOT SHOCKINGLY COLD AS IT SPRAYED ONTO MY SKIN which was awesome ! The front desk liaison was very nice n explained their machines and new equipment

I really enjoyed my experience here. It was my first time here and the receptionist (I think her name was Alyssa- worked on a Thursday night a few weeks ago) was extremely helpful. She explained everything so carefully and was super sweet! My mystic tan looked great and thanks for recommending the primer. Definitely coming back soon!

I came in on my lunch break as an inexperienced "tanner" not knowing why there are optional tanning beds lotions etc. Katie at the front desk was really nice and explained the differences and recommended what bed to start with. There was a nice flow of customers in and out which is always a good sign and everything was clean. I had no hesitation in purchasing one month unlimited and I was able to get my first session done on the spot.

I originally enjoyed going to this studio. Then after I put my account on "hold" by giving more than 45 days notice, my credit card was charged the next month for $58.25!
I called three tines asking why and sent an email (they actually have 2 emails so be careful) but no one could give me a straight answer. Only.....that's up to the Manager who pays the bills.
My calls started right after the billing of June 23, 2016 and my emails as of June 25th and continued to the 4th email today.

Seriously such a nice place. I used to tan @ At the Beach Tanning and this place (though the beds are a little more generic) is such a beautiful break from all the corporate crap of chain tanning salons. They never try to push product on you, and their tanning packets are fairly priced with equally fair terms. The ladies who work here are also extremely nice. Tons of great perks as well like Mystic Monday's and upgrade Wednesday's. Good job, Sun Studio!

Okay, so I work outside a lot. At times, I have this "farmers tan", which I need a bit help with blending.
Been about three years since I first came here. I don't come here that often. I have in the past bought package deals for several sessions ahead of time.
Today, I come in to use one of my 5 remaining sessions (worth about $100.00). But I'm told it has expired, since I haven't been here for over a year. Katy at the counter tells me that their pre paid sessions expire if not used in a year and there's nothing I can do about it. I look around to see any signs

Clean beds but expensive for signing up for monthly membership... I am from San Diego and I paid 20.00 a month verse now 50.00 a month. Plus, I had to pay 30.00 start up fee! $90.00 to start is to much in my opinion. I think they should reduce the prices. For now this will do until I find a more adorable place. The customer service for me is a hit and miss. I told one the girls that my tan lotion was stole out of my car along with my leather jacket and she replied well must have been a chick or a SMART boyfriend???? Lol instead of sorry to hear that...

I have been a client coming to sun studio for years now and can't review enough on how nice of a place it is to tan!
It is always extremely clean and very organized.
All of the girls are so sweet and are such a pleasure to deal with!:) it's so nice to have a friendly hello EVERY time I walk in!
Jacee the manager is very professional and is great to deal with every time I go... She always is so pleasant!!!

I know I'm the duchess and all so how could I not give this place a 5 star review? It's just so darn expensive for the average person's budget! The great thing is they offer discounts if you renew your package before it expires, Packet Saturdays (where you can get a free tan if you buy a packet of lotion, cheapest runs $8) and Discount Sundays for all level beds, in addition to the coupons they always have running and deals for signing up for longer periods of time rather than buying session by session.
