When we moved in the neighborhood about four years ago, we missed our old Chinese restaurant. After tasting out about half dozen of them in the neighborhood, we found House of Chou. It is our designated Chinese food to go. Some people think Chinese food restaurants all taste about the same. Well, I can ensure you that is not the case. I'm a 100% Chinese, my husband is a professional chef and we both have traveled a bit and lived in Asia. Beside the ingredients always fresh, consistency is always important for us. I wanted something quick and easy for my family, so I decided to order from here. I ordered the chicken on the stick (tasted ok), pot stickers (no flavor), combination fried rice (no flavor and missing shrimp), sesame beef ( ) and steamed veggies 😁. Overall, there is nothing memorable about this place. I wish Chinese food tasted the way it used to. I have better luck at Panda Express. However, delivery was quick.

My sons and I had been going to the House of Chou for many years as they grew up. When they came to visit we found ourselves near enough to pop over to get House of Chou again. We had Lunch combo platters, each served with rice and soup or spring roll. Sometimes it is just right and just as you remember it. It was yummy, and just As we remembered it. Great service and food.

Unfortunately, this missed the mark for me and I would not recommend.
We ordered
-Szechuan pork: worst dish of the night. It was supposed to be spicy, but the sauce was sweet like watered down plum sauce and was basically all carrots. Pork was mushy. Overall, I would not recommend this or get this again.
-Moo shu pork w/ extra pancakes: my second "favorite" of the night. Primarily veggies, but at least it had some flavor. Having a plum sauce definitely helped.
-Pork lo mein: Meh. It was fine.
-Pork Fried Rice: My "favorite" of the night.

I ordered chicken pad Thai and beef drunken noodles. Drunken noodles were in a huge, congealed clump. All stuck together. The sauce was only on the outer noodles. The beef was the worst part of the meal; it was very salty. It's as if someone dropped an entire salt shaker into the beef. It really wasn't edible. The pad Thai was okay. The chicken in the pad Thai ranged from strips to shredded. I'm not one to complain about my food, but my experience was not good. We actually threw away the food after eating our first serving. Maybe my mistake was ordering Thai from a Chinese place?

Very good food. Great service. Nice atmosphere, including a full bar. Menu selection is really good, with a few Thai selections, but is not overwhelming and we were really impressed with their good selection of Vegetarian items (BTW - Vegetable dumplings were probably some of the best we have had). The only reason I did not give them 5 stars, is because the food was a little too salty for our tastes. I am really glad that we tried this restaurant, but we probably won't go back. If you are in the area, and want a good sit-down Chinese restaurant, you could consider trying them out.

Disgusting !!! I went to this place on a "3rd party food app" delivery. The female owner or worker that greets you at the front of the restaurant was DIGGING UP HER NOSE 3 TIMES !!! 100% Fact !!! After I ordered the food for the customer, I hated the 10 minutes I spent in the building waiting for the food. (totally gross) I got the food and promised myself I will never accept a order from this restaurant again ! ~ P.s. Price is great. Food is high quality and delicious. They don't cut corners on the food. It tastes fresh. Not too oily. I would say it's the best Chinese food in NOVA but I haven't tried them all. Great meal to add some variety to your weekly takeout orders. They did a great job setting up shop to protect customers during the current Pandemic with the takeout window. A for effort.

My last review was a little misguided. My apologies to the restaurant. It turns out that they are closed on Mondays for deep cleaning (as seen on the website).
However, the food is amazing. I ordered shrimp fried rice, egg rolls, and their hot an sour soup. The food was not overly seasoned and was prepared in a timely manner. If you are COVID conscious, this location does not offer indoor seating. Their precautions are fantastic and their dedication to following protocol is what I think most stores in this area should reflect. My usual place wasn't open due to Covid so I decided to try this place.
I understand they might have been busy but first they put me on hold, then took my order, then put me on hold again, then hung up on me. I called back and after they put me on hold again I told the woman I was hung up on and she said 'no, I just had you on hold'......uuuhhh, I had to call back!?
So, I confirmed the ordered. It was so expensive. They arrived in good time. I decided to try the veggie chicken (Sunflower in Vienna is amazing so I figured it was all the same....wrong!!) it was terrible

20 people in our party for Christmas Eve dinner. Our experienced server was unflappable with a large, rowdy holiday group.
Appetizers and entrees were very good. Nothing outstanding but nothing was dissappointing. I think we ordered 1 of everything; no complaints. Fair portions, fair value.
Atmosphere is nothing special but if you want a solid, tasty Chinese meal at a good price, thisbwould be a good pick.

We were at the brewery right in the same parking lot as this place and decided to order delivery, since the brewery had to-go menus on display for people that wanted food (since the brewery didn't offer food). The guy on the phone was pretty weird when we were trying to describe where we were. We told him we were at the brewery, which is the only one in the entire shopping center and he still demanded for the address. I'm really, really, REALLY picky about my Chinese food. So when i order from places I make sure I check my food thoroughly and I critique it. PF Chang's was the only place I would actually order food from, until now. This place is ammmmazzinngg! I order my General Tso's with white meat chicken to make sure I'm getting what I'm actually asking for. It was like little pieces of heaven in your mouth. Came in for dinner and the first thing we noticed is how dark this place is. They can use some brighter light bulbs.
Food was not bad, we ordered general tso chicken and beef chow fun. General tso has this unique taste to it. I like it, but only if it was a little crispier. The hubby enjoyed it. The beef chow fun was OK, nothing spectacular, it is however less greasy than most other places. The beef kinda tasted weird, I'll be back for more later.
We also sat closest to the window but whenever someone opens the door, the wall shakes when it slams.
