Homeowner's insurance in the state of Florida is uniquely different from most other states. We have a high risk for catastrophic loss every year, mainly due to hurricanes. Because of this, the Florida homeowner's market is now driven by many independent companies. Most of the larger "name brand" insurance companies have left the Florida market altogether.
Condo Insurance covers many of the same perils as homeowner's insurance, but is typically much less expensive. We have some of the best condo rates in the state, especially with newer construction and non-coastal properties. Typically, your condo association is only responsible for the exterior walls and roof.

We have had a great experience at The Thompson Agency. Jean Zambrano has been great to work with and is very responsive. She helped explained the various policy options to us and helped us walk through changing our homeowners policy to a more reasonable rate when our previous insurance was almost doubling in price. They are very willing to answer any questions and do what they can to make the process easy and understandable.

I've had MANY different Insurance Agencies over the years and this is the first one that I've not only stuck with, but also recommended every chance I get. Thompson Agency (especially Jean & Ashley) actually WORK FOR YOU and will review and shop new policies yearly, explain things clearly, and never drop the ball. We were first recommended to the Orlando Thompson Agency in 2013 as new Florida residents. At that time, Julia walked us through the ins-and-outs of Florida homeowners insurance, as well as recommending certain additions to our new construction to lower insurance costs. Since then, we have always called The Thompson Agency for any insurance questions, new coverage or updates.
