I often get asked the question "how did you get started shooting boudoir photography?" Twelve years ago I was a full time wedding photographer looking to branch out. A lot of wedding photographers will also do family portraiture, but in order to be a good children's photographer, you need to have a very energetic, almost goofy, approach to keep their interest and draw them out and that's just not me.
I'm very calm and relaxed when I shoot. I decided to give boudoir photography a try instead. What I found was that my laid back, relaxed approach to shooting, while no good with kids, was perfect for bringing out the best in nervous women. And I LOVE it! Self-esteem and self-confidence are issues all of us as women deal with, and a boudoir session is the perfect way to help see ourselves from a different angle, both literally and figuratively.

You do such an amazing job - as I already said - but I couldn't get over of how much fun and how easy you made and how incredible they turned out. Thank you soooo much for this opportunity! During WWII, my grandmother and her best friend took what were then called "cheesecake" pictures of each other to send to their husbands who were in the army overseas. Though they were never intended for me to see, they never-the-less are some of my favorite pictures I have of my grandmother as they show a side of her I never would have seen otherwise.
If you're intrigued, but at the same time, intimidated by the thought of doing a boudoir session, you're not alone. The fact is, I don't think I've ever done a session with someone who wasn't. When I first started shooting boudoir photography, I assumed that it was the thought of being practically naked in front of a complete stranger that made people nervous.

I decided to drive back to my home town of raleigh from Florida to do this session. I couldn’t find a local photographer that had the style and value that Patricia offers! I’m so glad I did. I am so glad we chose Patty to be our wedding photographer - she has an incredible eye for catching candid moments and was wonderful throughout the whole planning process. We planned our wedding from France and she was willing to Skype with us and offered great suggestions for organizing. She handles weddings like a champ. She even sent us our flash drive with wedding photos to France ! I'm attaching a few photos so you can see what a talented, experienced photographer she is.

Patty was very respectful and helpful throughout the whole process, especially when I had a difficult timeline that required expedited processing of my book. Despite a shortened timeline, there was no compromise on the quality of work by any means; the product is beautiful, superb, and elegantly done.

My Boudior shoot was awesome! What an experience, between Pattys professionalism to the finalized photos it was great. I did the shoot to celebrate a milestone birthday, I was nervous but that quickly went away. Even the make up artist did a great job. Overall it was a fun time and enjoyed working with Patty.

Patty did a fabulous job on my boudoir photos. It is such an empowering and fun experience that I would totally recommend to anyone! Patty did a great job at making me feel at ease throughout the process and allowed me to see the photos as we went along to make sure I liked them. She also provided great tips on how to pose to look like the best version of you! She was also quick to respond to emails (something you do not always find in the wedding industry...) and had the photos ready quickly as well!
