I didn’t end up getting what I needed done at this location, but I did have to wait for a few hours to figure out an issue with my car. Teresa was so nice and professional. The waiting room is awesome, super comfy chairs and plenty of room to relax. I wasn’t charged for anything while there, even after they had to inspect stuff before sending me to the dealer. I appreciated their swiftness with my diagnosis and for allowing me to lounge while waiting. Highly recommend for check ups!

We have used city auto repair for several repairs/maintenance now. Most recently we took our van in for a thermostat repair. Price was in line with what other repair shops were charging (I called around for quotes), but I knew City Auto would do the job correctly so I scheduled the repair with them. They managed to get it done same day, which was a huge relief. They also offered a $50 off coupon when I scheduled which made them the cheapest after all!

For starters, the employees love working for City Auto because I asked and that is a good sign AND a WOMAN owns and operates this business and that is a plus for me in a male dominated business. I did not feel the under handedness I typically feel at huge dealerships that do not care if you ever come back because they are backed up by big corporate $$$

I chose City Auto Repair because I saw their great reviews on google. The first person I dealt with, Rachel, was very polite. I took my car in because my windows were going down abnormally slow and I wanted to address any issues before my warranty expired. I had to bring my car in three separate times because they didn't have the part and then because they ordered the wrong part. Each time I had to pay for an Uber to go to and from work. One day after they replaced the door switch, my driver and passenger windows stopped working completely.

My daughter is in Gainesville (5hours away) going to school. She got lucky when she found this shop. I'm a pretty decent mechanic, and prefer to work on our vehicles when I can, but being that she is so far away, I had to find a trustworthy shop she could take it to. These people seem like it! Seems like a woman running the place, or at least the front of the house, which I prefer. She seemed very nice and helpful when we've spoken over the phone. Overall good experience. Sales staff was very polite and thorough. They recommended work to be done in addition to what i initially came in for. Even though i had to postpone the extra work they gave me written estimates for the extra service. I would recommend them if someone needed a good repair shop.

My daughter called for two tires and they said the cheapest tires they can get their hands on would be $497 for two.
Somehow when I called to ask about it they went down to $442 and I got better tires for $388 installed.

I definitely like coming here (even though I obviously wish I didn't have to come here). I used to go to the dealership for everything, but this place is a nice change: they're super friendly and will explain anything to you.
It's also one of those AAA places, so members get 20% off up to like $50 (I think) off all services.

I convinced my best friend to bring his truck in for a transmission problem and a transfer case service. They are extremely professional in everything they do. We dropped the truck off and went to lunch. They called shortly after explaining the transfer case low range wasn't operative before doing any work. I was in the auto service business for almost 40 years. One of my biggest pet peeve was a mechanic not test driving the vehicle before and after the repairs or service- even if it's just an oil change. It's an obligation I take seriously for not only superior

Great service and competent employees. I am new to the area and was recommended to this shop by some longtime Gainesville residents. It did not disappoint, they even arrange transport home and pay for your uber one way if your car will be a while for repairs to be completed. Very modern and comfortable waiting room, friendly staff. They prorated my hour of diagnostic time when it took less than an hour, where do they do that at? normally it's at least a minimum of one hour diagnostic time even if they only need 15 minutes. I recently moved to Gainesville. I started having car trouble and my in-laws, who have used city auto for years, recommended this repair service. I was totally satisfied. Dan, who is the manager, was very attentive and I found him to be very honest in the assessment of the issues with my vehicle. After all the repairs were done I received a text message from Rachael who I believe is the owner. She offered to give me my next oil change free of charge. This is a great place and I recommend using them if you live in the Gainesville area. It seems to be a true Family business concerned with fair cost

I took my Honda CRV to both the Honda dealer, and City Auto Repair. The difference in service was night and day. City Auto Repair were patient, explained everything and encouraged me to seek other estimates; they were totally confident in their service and price. The Honda dealer rushed explanations, were busy to the point of neglecting their customers, and made me feel uneasy throughout my interactions with them.
Do yourself a favor, and go see Rachael and Dan at City

This used to be my favorite repair place in town! Always honest and reasonable. That has DEFINITELY changed now that they are under new ownership!! I took a car there to be checked before I purchased it, they told me the car needed $8k+ worth of work and was something that they wouldn't put a member of their family in due to safety concerns.
