Ballet Flamenco La Rosa (BFLR) is an International professional company dedicated to Flamenco as an ever-evolving art form. The innovative and creative artists of BFLR, under the Artistic Direction of founder Ilisa Rosal, present Flamenco dance in a theatrical setting - expanding the art form beyond traditional limits to reach and enlighten students and audiences with its beauty and magic.

The mission of Ballet Flamenco La Rosa is to present authentic Flamenco dance with live music in a theatrical setting, expanding the art form beyond traditional limits to appeal to broad based audiences. Ballet Flamenco La Rosa was founded in 1985 by Choreographer/Dancer/Instructor Ilisa Rosal.
Having trained with some of the most important Flamenco artists while working with the finest companies, dancers and musicians in Spain, Ms. Rosal returned to her native Miami to establish a Flamenco Dance Company and School.The School has trained many professional artists and educated generations of audiences about this art form.

Ballet Flamenco La Rosa Performing Arts School, in collaboration with PAN Performing Arts Network, features Dance, Music and Theatre classes in a nurturing environment for students of all ages and levels. Our programs offer high quality training with small class sizes that allow students to have individual attention from professional artists that are among the best in their fields.
In addition, BFLR offers the unique opportunity to study many ethnic dance forms, as Flamenco has multi-cultural roots and inspiration. Special Workshops with Guest Artists, Scholarships and Internships are offered for students who wish to become more deeply involved in the performing arts.
BFLR has several Dance companies that offer the students a closer relationship with the professional dance world, giving them opportunities to perform, as well as to work backstage in venues throughout South Florida.They may be part of production teams and work on costumes, set and lighting design, as well as in the administrative and marketing aspects of various projects.

Basic training includes sight-reading, rhythmic skills, tonal skills and general knowledge of the instrument. Training for Piano, Guitar, Vocals and Drumming is available in private, semi-private and small group classes. Music theory and technique for each instrument, combined with performance skills and composition are all introduced at the appropriate level for each student.
BFLR's Theatre Program provides a wealth of opportunities for the study of theatre in a wide variety of ways. Acting classes begin with basic training and then students may pursue scene study, monologues, writing for the theatre, stage management, theatre lighting and production.
BFLR has its own BlackBox Theater where students may learn about everything that goes into a production with hands-on experience in costume, lighting and set design, directing, marketing and all aspects of performance.Students perform for BFLR Student Showcases and participate in Workshops with Guest Artists.
