Services
Home of the International Ballet Company (IBC). Under the direction of Deborah Buttner, Artistic Director, and Mary Buttner, Director, we are known as "Simply the Best!" We have three fully equipped air-conditioned studios with sprung floors and a friendly, non-competitive environment. Excellent classes are provided in Ballet, Pointe, Repertoire, Royal Academy of Dance, Contemporary, and Stretch/Strengthening /Conditioning.
IDA's first location over a decade ago was in a small studio warehouse in Davie, Florida. International Ballet Company was born the same year in response to great demand for the production of a full length Nutcracker performance. Following rave reviews and a dramatic enrollment increase, IDA expanded to a larger location in Weston, Florida, in 2007.
Our annual magical performance of this traditional holiday show takes place at the Coral Springs Theater for the Arts, usually on the second weekend in December. Our first performance was in 2000 and, as the years go by, we look forward to each and every performance even more! Whilst this holiday classic keeps its magical story intact, choreography changes each and every year to suit the current talented cast.
Our annual Academy SHOWCASE takes place in mid-May and is a wondrous event! We do not offer a recital but rather an exciting, professional story production such as "Cinderella, " "The Wizard of Oz", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" or another from our fabulous repertoire! Each dancer is prominently featured and parents burst with pride as they watch their child excel in a professional environment.
We encourage our advanced dancers (Senior Company) to serve the community with their gift of dance. They excel in this area with humility and grace. Over the years, IBC has devoted countless hours to a number of worthy causes. The following is just a sampling of the wonderful outreach programs within which IBC dancers were blessed to participate in together.

I have been part of the IDA family for over 18 years. My daughter started dancing when she was 13 and now her daughter, my granddaughter is a ballerina in training. Mary and Debbie are so professional and make each dancer feel special while they are receiving top notch ballet training. For me the most amazing thing about IDA is how they treat each dancer equally regardless of ability or size, to me that speaks volumes. When you dance at IDA you are family!!!!

My two sisters and I were fortunate to begin our ballet training with Ms. Debbie and Ms. Mary prior to their opening of IDA. We continued under their direction for 13 years until our family relocated. Hard work is rewarded. Laziness and complacency are not tolerated. The ballet training I received allowed me to take class at any studio around the world and be recognized for my high-level of technique. It truly is a pre-professional academy.

I had the honour to train at IDA for 5 years in my youth. This school and the IDA family created the woman, dancer, choreographer and mother I am today. Along with the immense dance training I received, I also endured incredible life lessons. The ample amount of knowledge for Ballet and performing Arts is overwhelming and allowed me to work professionally in the industry. I cant thank Debbie, Mary and Eriberto enough for the years I trained at this school.

My three daughters have been attending classes at IDA for 7 years, I have to talk about not only of the professionalism of teaching and the aptitude of their teachers, but also the family environment where they grow, learn and recreate. I really recommend IDA. My daughters have been almost 10 years and not only them love the academy but also the teachers and all IDA staff. For them and including us as parents IDA is as a second home. Everyone is like a another family. The level all the academy is super high, outstanding teachers, their commitment with the girls are unique and all the good values and discipline that the girls learn is invaluable. RAD examinations and the shows are outstanding.

IDA is THE best classical ballet school in Broward County and beyond. The affiliation and preparation for the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus examinations surpasses any experience a young ballet student could have. In addition, the academy gives their students a professional ballet training experience which includes discipline, performance opportunity, integrity and grace. It is truly the finest and most professional school for classical ballet training in the area. A true gem!

My daughter had been studying dance for several
years at other dance academies when she transferred to this academy. We thought she would take it to a higher level in learning. It was the worst experience she had in dance. If you don't like favoritism and clicks, you won't like it here. A waste of a year. We left and went to another dance school that was wonderful! She learned so much more and flourished! Now she dances at college. I would not consider this school the best in the area. Ugh!

International Dance Academy is in a league of its own when it comes to classical ballet training. They offer a perfect hybrid of a disciplined yet loving environment for young dancers to excel. Best Ballet studio in Florida!
We moved from Australia and we were looking for a best dance studio for my daughter in Weston area.
Reflecting back on last year, choosing IDA was our best decision. My daughter loves dancing here and made a lot of friendships.
Professional teachers provide their students with strong technical skills to pursue a professional dance career. Beautiful studio, great facilities and lovely staff.

If you live in Weston and have a little girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina, there is NO other ballet academy better than this. My daughter has been going to this school for a year and both she and I love this place. It is run by a mother and daughter from South Africa, both of whom studied under the Royal Academy of Dance.
There are girls from 3 - 18 years old studying at this academy and they all interact with one another beautifully. The older girls help with the little ones and the little ones look up to the older ones. It is a wonderful community where the girls learn much more than
