I totally enjoyed the personal touch of a small town shoe store. The owner is very personable and seems to listen to my needs and make suggestions. Since the shoe store has changed the owners, I have found the brands to be more relevant to what I am looking for and trendy. My son needed new boots for a trip out west and only had 1 day to find them.
He went to Gierk's and the sales person was super helpful and got him fitted with boots he liked and said were comfortable. Thank you, Gierk Shoes for your quick thinking and help. The man was very kind and helped me find exactly what I wanted and didn’t try selling me anything I didn’t need even talked me out of a pair of thoroughgoods. Went here because I got a gift certificate this year and last year for Christmas and they would not accept my gift certificate from last year because it was supposedly expired but no where on the gift certificate did it say it expires. Also went to buy a pair of shoes and the left shoe was marked $159.00 and the right one was marked $164.00 so the cashier honored the more expensive price for the shoes. Happened a second time with another pair of shoes I was interested in purchasing, the box they were in was priced at $130.00 and the shoe was marked $132.00. Again the cashier honored the more expensive

I've heard that Gierk shoes is OK if you're able to shop their retail location, however their customer service for their online sales is terrible. They sell on Amazon and claim to follow Amazon's return policy, however their fine print which is BURIED in their return policy indicates that buyer is responsible for both return shipping AND an exorbitant 20% "restocking fee", and that returns are only accepted within 30 days if the shoes are in perfect condition. Since the shoes themselves are not cheap, 20% ends up being quite a hefty sum. Stay away from online orders

Gierk shoes got good reviews if you are able to shop their retail location, but their online shop is a scam. the company also sells on Amazon but charges exorbitant "restocking fees" if you want to return anything. Buyer pays return shipping PLUS a 20% restocking fee if the shoes don't fit. They state that they abide by "Amazons return policy" but there is some tucked away fine print indicating extra fees. As these are high-quality shoes, they are not cheap, therefore it 20% is quite a large amount to pay for "Restocking". Poor business practice for online purchases.

I will not go to this shop again. I had an issue with my socks being pulled into the NB shoes I had bought the week earlier the owner would not do anything or even try to check the issue. She was to call me back never did. I called NB and they said it was because the shoe didn't fit. I put an additional insert in the shoe and now okbl
