Hourly rates and salaries for caregivers, housekeepers, nannies, and other domestic employees vary greatly depending on numerous factors. Each position's requirements and circumstances are different; therefore, it is impossible to specify a particular rate. Furthermore, market conditions are also controlling the rates and these conditions are continually changing.
Lake Shore Care Domestic Agency places caregivers, senior companions, nannies, housekeepers, babysitters, house managers, private chefs and other domestic workers in well-paying positions throughout Chicagoland area. To ensure a long-lasting relationship and the best domestic placement, we never pressure anyone to take any job they do not want.

Lake Shore Care was a saving grace for my family. After extremely disappointing and dangerous experiences with highly rated nursing homes and other caregiver agencies in the area, we met the caregivers that Halina and Lake Shore Care represents. The owner is not professional. It seems like her sole goal is to extract as much money as possible from those who need work and those who want to hire. When I fired one woman due to dishonest behavior (leaving hours early, items disappearing), she told me to meet another candidate but refused to do a preliminary background check until I hired her. Completely unprofessional. I sent a polished resume with many years of experience and received an email from "someone" saying they would like to meet with me; I was given a day and a timeframe. The email was signed "regards" - no name, no company, and certainly no phone number. I responded almost immediately, saying I'd be happy to meet, asking for the address, and to confirm that this was the agency that I had applied for since the sender was someone's random name, not Lakeshore Care. I never received a response back.

Halina is professional, helpful, and a complete pleasure to work with. Hello, my name is Marta W. I hired Halina from a work agency to help me find a job. I paid her when I was unemployed and when she finally found me a job I had to pay her my weekly salary. The lady who she found to hire me, really liked me and wanted to employ me for longer. Halina kept on telling her that she'll find someone better than me for her. But this woman really wanted me to work for her. And due to that, Halina made me pay double weekly for her. I told her no and she started scaring me that I'll regret it especially since I'm a single mother with a 3 and 1/2 year old.

Filled out an application, and called the office. I was immediately told to call back the following week ... ok ... I did so and the person on the other end was completely rude; They acted like it was such an inconvenience - I ended up hanging up.
Without us, the potential workers, they would have no one to refer to their paying clients. Perhaps treat us better? Just a thought.
On top of this, they are the only agency in the area that actually charges THE WORKER (nanny/housekeeper/whatever) a PLACEMENT FEE, if a job offer is accepted. Every one of the other agencies in the city only charges

We selected a nanny to start with our family before joining a nanny-share situation a few months down the road. After the initial visit with the nanny we selected the Friday before she was to start, we decided it was not a good fit. In the chaotic days that followed (which included flying out my mother in law last minute as interim care) we ended up finding a neighborhood home day care that just felt right.

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Lake Shore Care. Halina introduced us to our current nanny, who has now worked with us for over a year. She also introduced us to our former nanny, whom we adored, but who had to stop working suddenly due to medical reasons. Halina is superb at what she does. She is able to very quickly and professionally assess the client's needs and match them to care-giving candidates. My family has been using Halina's services for the last 4 years without a hitch. Let me tell you something...I'd rather have someone warm and caring than a robot with 10 years of experience. Domestic care is just that and ALL WOMEN are experience domestic caregivers. The owner of the company Halina was a huge turn off. I would NEVER have my family watched by this Agency in a million years!

I received a call back from this agency. Not only were they very unprofessional. They told me that they can't find anyone for those hours and that I qualify but not to mention my age and if someone asks to either not respond or tell a lie because this person is asking for someone older. Now who would want to work with an agency like this, that asks their employees to lie and lies to their customers who pay money to them for getting good qualified people.
