Shady Oaks Assisted Living
We excel at long-term senior care. Seniors stay with us for many years. They stay even as their needs increase. We help many residents with advanced dementia, Parkinson's, Diabetes, and those recovering from falls or strokes. We have deep experience with hospice comfort care. We also offer respite care.

For days or weeks, seniors stay with us for rehabilitation, caregiver vacations, or home remodeling projects. Others use respite as a test-run for a longer term stay. Over the last 15 years, our residents and families came to us from 62+ Connecticut towns & 10+ states.

We can't thank you enough for all the love and kindness, care and support that you gave not only to ______ but to us during her short time with you. She really loved being there and loved all of the staff that took care of her. Thanks for taking the time last week to list the aides who worked with mom.
Most people value staying at home as long as possible. Home health care businesses supervise certified and non-certified nurse aides to assist seniors in their homes. They are excellent for light help, for several hours daily, especially if you find a reliable business and good aides. However, as care needs increase to 5+ hours a day or 35+ hours a week, Shady Oaks becomes more safe, social, and affordable than home care.

After many months, I am completely convinced that this was the best choice for my Mother-In-Law. The quality of care, attention to all detail and responsiveness of the staff is exceptional. One of the very few long term care facilities in the country to never have had a patient with Covid 19, this is the result of a dedicated manager and staff who are always educated on the latest and have a plan in place to protect all who live there. A member of our family visits daily so we see the day to day happenings. We could not he more pleased or impressed and my Mother-In-Law in truly content. What a

Had to leave a positive review from my conversations with Tyson over the phone, who heads up the operation at Shady Oaks. My inquiry of my mom taking the steps of living at Shady Oaks was met with warmth, understanding and professionalism. Tyson went above and beyond to help our family understand the big picture of healthcare for the aging in CT. Out of a caring spirit he acted as a social worker to us with nothing in return. Thank you Tyson! Your kindness was appreciated and reflected well on how Shady Oaks must be a great place to call home. -Jared

Shady Oaks Assisted Living is amazing. The care my mother gets is wonderful. She is so much happier here and ALL the staff is so caring, kind and patient. The owner, Tyson Belanger has been so helpful. I cannot express how grateful my family is that we found this place. I highly recommend Shady Oaks.

There are very few times when I feel so strongly compelled to write a ‘thank you’ Google Review. This review shares invaluable information about our family’s experience with Shady Oaks Assisted Living in Bristol, CT. I hope that others in a similar situation will be able to have the same positive experience for their families as well.
Last year, my mother had a very debilitating stroke that left her paralyzed two months shy of her 90th birthday. Before that, she was a very active woman who enjoyed driving multiple times a week to Foxwoods where she loved playing Bingo! She loved her Bingo

Our Dad was at Shady Oaks for 6 months before his declining dementia got the best of him and we had to move him to memory care. My Dad is my hero and I wanted nothing but the best for him. Finding the right place for a loved one is extremely difficult to say the least. I can't say enough about the kindness and compassion my Dad received from all the employees and especially the owner Tyson the entire time he was at Shady Oaks. He was treated as family and they always tried to be accommodating to anything he needed or wished for. I wish he could have stayed there for the rest of his life but dementia

My mother was at Shady Oaks for one year. Since I visited her everyday, I saw first hand the normal routines, attitudes and interactions. My mother was very dear to me and I could not have found a better place for her. I was totally at peace when I left her knowing that she was being taken care of as I would have. For any area of concern, Tyson really wanted to know about it and solved it in a fair and professional manner. The resident, staff and family are all part of what is best for the resident. Any reasonable request is accommodated. I would highly recommend Shady Oaks to anyone in need of

My mother was at 3 other Assisted living facilities before we finally made our way to Shady Oaks. We were actually on the wait list and thankfully got in. What a world of incredible difference to the other places we were at. Tyson the owner is a complete Rockstar! He even helped us move and when I accidentally broke a lamp of my mom's during the move he replaced it! The exact same one he found! What a blessing this place is. I cannot say enough about it to recommend it. Don't go anywhere else as far as I'm concerned! My mom is at the end stages of Parkinson's at the moment and they take such good

My father spent his days at Shady with people who really cared about his interests, his health and well being. He was comfortable in the home setting and the friendly staff who were always around to help him, as well as to answer our questions. As an out-of-state daughter, I felt that he was always in good hands with the super competent staff that took the time to really get to know him, and even helped him come out of his shell after living alone for a long time. We had checked out several other facilities, and this was the first one that felt personal, where he would be an individual.

My mom moved to Shady Oaks in January 2020. It was a sudden move for my mom. Tyson and his staff came out to our home evaluated my mom and was able to have her moved in within 2 days. They made the move seamless. The pandemic hit in March and I am so grateful that my mom was at Shady Oaks. Tyson and the staff made sure my mom was safe along with all the other residents. They gave up 3 months of being with their families to save mine (The Bubble) For that I am eternally grateful. They continue to strive to keep everyone safe. Tyson has helped me with applying for different benefits to help with

I had two parents who lived at Shady Oaks. The first was my mom, because she needed more care than she could get at home. My family decided to have her live at Shady Oaks. I lived in another state and was very concerned about her, but when I went to visit her I saw how happy she was! Tyson came to Shady Oaks the same time my dad did. He stayed with my dad that first day to make sure he was okay. My dad adjusted and enjoyed living there as well. It is a close knit community that feels like family, and I was always welcomed whenever I visited. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my
