Welcome to AYF Camp Haiastan, the first Armenian camp in America! Founded in 1951, our residential summer camp prides itself on providing a healthy and safe experience to Armenian-American youth to help them foster their Armenian identity and establish lifelong friendships. Located in Franklin, Massachusetts, AYF Camp Haiastan overlooks picturesque Uncas Pond and sits on over 100 acres of pristine woodland.

In 1939, the newly elected AYF (Tzeghagrons) Central Executive, composed of Berge Aslanian, Harry Sachaklian, Popken Hachikian, Florence Kasparian, James Tashjian, Arthur Edgarian, and Antranik Bagdasarian, was charged with the unanimous decision passed by the delegates to the AYF Annual Convention of establishing "a youth camp by 1940."
Kenar, is a veteran camper who was recently appointed Executive Director of AYF Camp Haiastan. Her youthful spirit and dedication to Camp will leave a lasting impression. Inspired by her own journey, she instills love for the Armenian culture and history in future campers. John is the longtime caretaker of the AYF Camp Haiastan grounds.
The traditions of AYF Camp Haiastan are brought to life by the dedication and enthusiasm of our new and returning staff. As an Armenian school teacher, you will be the primary conduit to the camper's structured experience of Armenian History, Culture, Language, and Activism.
As an Armenian school teacher, you will be responsible for executing the outlined curriculum by the Camp Board's Educational Committee while creating engaging lesson plans for widely varying language and cultural knowledge and skill levels.The Aquatics Director position reports to the Summer Director and will at times take direction from the Head Counselor.

As soon as the Summer Staff Applications are posted on this website (usually December/January). We will not consider incomplete or late applications. All staff must attend Staff Training Week prior to beginning work, date of which is specified in the Seasonal Summer Staff Employment Application.
Staff Training Week is aimed at helping you prepare for the variety of experiences you may have with campers and parents throughout the summer, how to navigate difficult situations i.e.The camp nurse securely stores and dispenses all medications, prescription or over-the-counter, for all campers and staff while at camp.
