In addition to room and meals DCR offers opportunities for each resident to develop towards their utmost potential; opportunities for socializing, recreating and learning to live in the least restrictive situation possible. DCR can provide quality assisted living arrangements for the chronically mentally ill.
Since 1975, DCR has been providing room, meals and supportive services to consumers of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services through the cooperative assistance of the Duncan Mental Health Clinic, a satellite of the Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton.

Services
Some adults must live in a monitored supportive environment yet do not need nursing home or inpatient care. The DCR consists of four structures. Our main building is a two-story dormitory with nine double occupancy and five single bedrooms. Each floor has two baths. Connected to the main building by a covered walkway, the smaller back building contains the kitchen, dining area, lounge, laundry room and office.
We are a non-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of adults that so many times fall through the cracks as they attempt to live their lives dealing with a mental illness. We bring them in, often times, with nothing, they come with the clothes that they have on and a sorrowed or angry heart.
It is the mission of Duncan Community Residence to provide a structured living environment for disadvantaged adults. Residents are usually "disadvantaged" in at least one of the following areas: financial, emotional and physical. The nine member staff of DCR spends their working hours seeing to the needs of the residence.
