Services
The Pre-Ballet Program introduces four and five-year-olds to the enchanting world of ballet through barre and floor exercises, across-the-floor dances, stories of ballets and great dancers, classical music, creative and character dancing. All children are encouraged to express their dance potential in a positive, joyous, and happy environment, with praise for each child.
The richly creative Modern Dance Program at Lexington School of Ballet focuses on providing students with the skills and inspiration to choreograph their own dances. Each student is encouraged to develop technical strength, creativity, and versatility as a dancer while working in a cooperative environment.
Lexington School of Ballet is committed to supporting Children's Hospital Boston with bi-annual performances of The Nutcracker for Ballet Grades IV through Pre-Professional. Other performances have benefitted various charities in the Boston area. Students in Grade I through Pre-Professional Ballet, Jazz, and Modern Dance perform in our yearly recital.
All Lexington School of Ballet students in the Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, and Modern programs are expected to wear their dress code leotard for every class. Leotards should be purchased before the first class of the term. Please see the dress code for the specific details for each class level. Students at every level of the LSB Ballet and Pre-Ballet Program are expected to come to class with their hair in a bun.
Classes for the 8-week session will be held in person at LSB's studios, with an option to join remotely on Zoom. Students in Pre-Ballet and Children's Ballet should wear required classroom level leotard and ballet slippers. Ankle socks may be worn instead of tights during the summer months. All other levels should continue to wear Spring 2021 class level leotards.

While a child could learn a lot here, the experience would be detrimental to all children's health and well being. The treatment of students by a few select teachers were harsh and unfair, and favoritism was rampant among all classes but specifically the older classes.
The children in these higher classes were discouraged from their passions for dance because of their treatment on a daily basis at this school.
I would not recommend this dance studio over that of others in the area.
I would recommend the Jazz and Modern Dance programs at this school.
