Plano Power Equipment started out in 1962 as Plano Motor Mart in the old Inter-Urban railroad station on 15th Street, a block from old downtown Plano. After a few years, we expanded into a little two-door garage at one end of the building next door. The other end was occupied by a bicycle shop. Plano was a lot smaller then.
As Plano grew, so did we. The bicycle shop moved out and we quickly filled up the new space with our ever-growing inventory. Our customer base was growing, too. Our reputation for quality products and good service brought us regular customers from Richardson, McKinney, Sherman, Dallas, Fort Worth, and even Oklahoma.

Services
We are an Authorized Service and Warranty Center for about 30 Major Outdoor Power Equipment brands. We have a staff of technicians who are factory trained and certified, as well as OPE certified, with over 100 years combined experience in outdoor power equipment service and repair. We won't refer you to our "service center" in Outer Mongolia.
While a lot of people use the Internet for shopping, probably many more are looking for help with products they already have. Traditionally, the outdoor power equipment industry has been slow to embrace new technology. Such major players as Honda and Echo were late getting onto the world wide web. Even today, most official material is focused on new equipment rather than providing service after the sale.
We sell replacement chains for most brands of chain saw. There are three basic measurements needed to determine the replacement chain. The first is the pitch, or the distance between drive lugs on the chain and it determines whether the chain will fit the sprocket. Most consumer saws use a type of 3/8" chain called "low profile".
Model numbers and serial numbers can mean the difference between getting the right part and the wring one. For most Honda equipment, the base model number is on the starter cover, the engine cowling or another prominent location on the frame. The serial numbers are a little more difficult to find. Honda equipment generally has a serial number for the frame, and one for the engine.
Please follow the links provided to fill out the credit application for the brand of equipment you would like to purchase. Once you have received approval from the financial institution, simply bring your driver's license and a copy of the approval form into the store so our helpful sales staff can get your new equipment ready for you.

They should change the name to "Honda Power Equipment. Brought my Briggs and Stratton power washer in for a tune up (nothing with the presser washer) they did great job. Brought my Briggs and Stratton generator in (tune up) and they said they only work on Honda. What a waste of time. I said well you did my power washer and his response was "they shouldn't have" Dont waste your time

Oh man! This place is awesome! They really know their stuff about power equipment. I dropped off a push reel mower to get sharpened, and they were able to get it completed a lot faster than I thought. I will definitely use them for my next power equipment needs. Can’t say enough good words about them!

These guys are great. I went in looking to upgrade from my old Husqvarna saw to a Stihl. Had some questions and they had all the answers. Settled on the MS250. They don't just take your cash, hand you a box and send you on your way. Paul filled the saw up with gas and oil and ran it to make sure everything functioned well. Then he took me outside and walked me through how to start it safely to make sure I was comfortable with it. Very impressed with the whole process. Paul, if you see this, thanks a ton for the help!

Looking for some chain saws and they're expensive. Specifically, I want Stihl and they sell only thru dealers that service them. Plano Power is one of those. They have been around forever and Ive driven past them for years. Now I need some help with key decisions on buying the right saws, for the job.
This is a small shop. Organized but cramped and not as well lit as Richardson Saw. I was in the store looking around for about 10 minutes and never approached by an associate to help. I finally left. Ill return and give them another shot before I buy but, felt like it wasn't important to

Helpfull and friendly service. Came in for a pole saw and they got me the one that I really needed for what I was using it for. He even test started it to ensure it was ready for use. Got home and started right away. Oh yeah, check out the local honey they sell too. I will never use a non-powered pole saw again!!! Thanks!

Always an easy in and out at Plano Power. They have 6-8 counter guys ready to help. I just needed my mower blades sharpened, $7.50 a blade and took about 5 minutes. They have been here since the 70's. I bring my mower in for service every other year - same thing bring it in, give them a day or two and it's about $30-50 depending on what you want done.
They sell and service more than I can list; if you have a question about your machine they take the time to come out and look at it.
Always honest and knowledgeable.
Great shop!
I will be back.

Have tried returning their calls twice about a pending repair on a trimmer I left with them. Hung up after being on hold for 10 minutes each time. Even tried to chat on their website but that has been fruitless as well. May have to go in person to either tell them to proceed with repair or give it back because if they can't run a phone, how can I expect them to competently fix a trimmer?
Presentation seems nice but execution sucks, so far.

After repairing my scag mower and charging me approximately $900, the mower was returned still not running. They kept my mower an extremely long time and never called me with updates. The owner, Brent, would not communicate with me nor accept my phone calls. I was put on hold for extensive lengths of time.
I would NOT recommend Plano Power Equipment to anyone who wants quality, effective service with people who genuinely care.

This was the second time I took my reel into Plano Power Equipment so they could sharpen the blades. No problem the first time got it back okay. Thursday I was called and said my reel was ready but they could not sharpen my blades. Okay no problem. So I go to pick it up. First off it looks totally different then when I dropped it off. Second their was damage to the knob that lowers the blades and as you can see from the picture no cover. I asked for my cover the guy brings it and said I'll put it on. I told guy I'll do it at home. Then guess what the chain is not connect with piece that connects

I've dealt with them several times now. Each time there has been a problem.
1. I bought a used Scag mower and took it to them to completely go through and fix anything wrong. When I got it back, I looked it over myself and found several things wrong including a completely corroded battery cable. I was charged a lot of money but they claimed nothing was wrong when I picked it up. I doubt they ever looked at it.
2. Shortly after getting it home, sure enough the battery cable was eaten completely through and could no longer make contact with the battery. Rather than take the mower back to

The customer service is crap. The owner Brad is the one with the worst service, had no intention of having any dealings with me.
He asked me what I needed and I explained, then he walked away without saying a word and no response when a salesman finally helped me, I had to explained him again, he tells me that he has to talk to the owner who makes the final decision. Who is BRAD.
My question is, if he knew my case, why could not he tell me immediately, very upset with the situation I asked him why he made me wait 30 minutes if he knew what I was looking for, According to him he was very busy

The customer service is terrible I just bought a lawnmower 3 three weeks ago. And I used it two times to cut my grass using the electric starter . When I was going to use it for the third time my battery was dead so I have the option to do it manually after five times I pulled the cord the motor was not running I took it in for service on April 21 and today is April 25 and they told me they're not going to get it ready until May 1. After paying almost $700 for these lawnmower I think this is ridiculous.
I do not recommend you to buy anything from the store since customer service takes too
