Dr. Allen has practiced in Washington and California and is passionate about using integrative medicine to care for children, adults and seniors as well as providing wellness education to help her patients prevent healthcare issues in the future. Hi, you can call me Dr. Ellerie! I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor back in SLO to join the team at East West Natural Medicine. After graduating from CalPoly in 2008, I left San Luis Obispo to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering (BME).

Chinese medicine has been practiced for more than 2,500 years and includes Acupuncture, moxibustion (which is a type of heat therapy using the mugwort plant), and Chinese herbal medicine. It is a system of medicine that categorizes symptom and body patterns into individual-centered diagnoses with corresponding treatment plans.
Naturopathic Medicine stands distinct from conventional medicine in the philosophy upon which it is based. Most of today's modern pharmaceuticals are designed to control symptoms: blood pressure medication for hypertension, statins for high cholesterol. These medications are valuable, can save lives, and serve a very important purpose in today's health care arena.
At East West Natural Medicine Center, we focus on restoring health using acupuncture and Naturopathic medicine. I have been treated by Juliana for the past few months for neck, shoulder, and back pain. I'm so glad I went there, I always looked forward to each session because I knew I would be treating myself to the best pain relief and a really good session. I would give her a million stars if I could!!! She has been attentive to my needs for each session and afterwards I leave her office feeling pain free and really mellow, like I could take a nap for days. She is truly gifted and much appreciated. She is very kind and really made me feel comfortable in her office and on her table. I don't hope

Dr. Englund has been helping me with my rotator cuff and subsequent frozen shoulder pain for about 7-8 months now. She is very knowledgeable in her practice and really listens to her patients. She tailors each session to any changes or progress you've made and I feel like she really cares about getting you to a better place. She has been there for me in some really difficult painful times and each month I'm experience more pain free days!! It's been a long road of recovery and these sessions have given me hope of returning to normalcy some day.

This is a welcoming and soothing facility, with true professionals who are kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Rarig has helped me heal my fractured ankle and is now helping my husband with his lingering pain after back surgery. Dr. Rarig used tens acupuncture as well as cups. After the very first session, my husband was without any pain for the rest of the day--first time in a month! The pain came back the next day, but milder, so we hope it will keep getting milder with each treatment.

I've seen Dr. Rarig a few times now for acupuncture on a shoulder I keep re-injuring. In short, she's amazing. She has this innate sense for finding the root causes of my pain and the best treatment to address it.
I was a little skeptical of acupuncture at first, but after about three treatments I've had substantial improvement, not just with respect to pain, but also general mobility.
The setting is relaxing and the staff is so friendly and helpful. If you're considering alternative medicine, definitely give this place a try.

Scared of acupuncture? Fear no more as Dr Englund is the consummate professional. I was referred to acupuncture by a world class back surgeon in Los Angeles. Living in SLO I decided to give it a try locally. The treatment solved my foot numbness and greatly improved the numbness in my leg. This is not a cure all, but with PT, exercise and acupuncture, you are on the right path especially with Dr Englund.

Dr. Julianna Englund is amazing! She is very kind, knowledgeable and intuitive. I visit the office for tight muscles and stress relief. I leave the office floating on air. I feel more relaxed after my acupuncture session than after a massage. You feel relaxed walking into the office and the treatment rooms are peaceful and pleasant. Dr. Julianna Englund is GREAT!!

Dr. Yu is amazing!! I have been going here on and off for about 6 years. I had my c-6/7 fused about 12 years ago and have permanent chronic nerve damage. I have tried many traditional treatments, physical therapy, chiropractor, medications, countless xrays, ct scans and 100's of trips to different Doctors traveling 100's of miles. In fact my father is a physician and up until my experiences was skeptical, he is now a believer as he has seen my major struggles with this injury.

Dr. Julianna Englund is the most kind, knowledgable, patient, comforting person! She is modest yet brilliant and knows her practice. This was my first time and I was referred by a friend of my husbands. I couldn't be more thrilled about my experience. I have already scheduled for another appointment next week. I suffer from migraines and tension headaches. I woke up with a headache this morning and after my appointment I am already feeling much better! I strong recommend Julianna over any other in SLO.

If you have never tried Dr. Julianna's healing teas, you must! I especially like the Winter Immune Booster. The unique blend of herbs is both delicious and a wonderful way to avoid flus during flu season without getting a flu shot.

Dr. Englund is by far the most knowlegeable and professional Naturopathic Dr. I have been treated by in my lifetime, I couldn't recommend her enough. She is intuitive, insightful, and passionate about her work. She has studied many different aspects of natural healing and has a comprehensive list of tools to treat you in a truly holistic approach.
