Direct Dimensions, Inc. (DDI) provides unique solutions to complex modeling and manufacturing problems. We specialize in the on-site application of digitizers, laser scanners, and the conversion of complex three-dimensional data into 3D computer models. Direct Dimensions measures in three-dimensional space - x, y, and z - using advanced 3D scanning systems.
One process, for example, uses a mechanical "arm" guided over the object with a laser scanner attached to the end to collect 3D data without contact. The scanner is like the 'barcode' scanners we see at the grocery store, notes Raphael. Putting data together like a virtual puzzle, engineers create an exact 3D digital model.

Measuring a part or object using a Digitizer, and then creating a CAD model of the original design. Laser Scanners are used to create a computer model that exactly replicates the form of the object. We have Certified Training courses at our facility for all of the products and services we offer. We are also available to come to your facility if needed.
From the very beginning, Direct Dimensions has been proudly serving the Military and Aerospace industry. We had the privilege of laser scanning and digitizing everything from entire airplanes and cockpits, down to individual nuts and bolts. Using our reverse engineering tools and applications, Direct Dimensions can create 2D drawings of your "final" part that can be used as blueprints and for re-manufacturing the part.
Direct Dimensions has frequently worked with the Automotive industry over the past 10 years. From scanning and digitizing of entire automobiles to analyzing and modeling individual engine components, Direct Dimensions has seen a full spectrum of applications in this industry that have benefitted from using our technology and experience.
Working with doctors, Anaplastologists, dentists and other professionals in the medical field, we have been able to assist with surgery, create custom prostheses, help develop new methods of creating dentures, and more! Creating exact replica "blanks" is now possible for Prostheses patients by using Direct Dimensions' laser scanning capabilities.
