American Plastic Lumber Inc. has provided maintenance-free Recycled plastic lumber products throughout the world for nearly two decades. Versatile and durable, structural plastic lumber offers an alternative to treated wood and is ideal for heavy commercial infrastructure projects such as bridges, marine applications, boardwalks, docks, piers and fendering systems. This material performs especially well in extreme salt, sun, and corrosive type environments.
Below are samples of some of our color options. Due to the recycled content of the materials, colors can sometimes vary slightly between production runs. Actual lumber colors may not be 100% truly represented when viewed from your individual computer or various online devices or when printed. Please contact us for actual material samples before ordering.
Structural plastic lumber is recommended for structural use but care needs to be used in the design of the structure. It is not a direct replacement for standard wood materials. In most cases the deflection will control the needed size of boards. Span charts (see below) can be used to determine the approximate size for normal applications.
This non-structural grade of HDPE plastic lumber can offer you or your customers significant cost savings, especially when used to replace wood lumber on items like benches and picnic tables as well as ballfield backstops. Premium plastic lumber is a solid material with color throughout and contains UV inhibitors, thus providing long-lasting maintenance free performance even in harsh environments like salt and sun.
