Services
Fred Anderson had been working in his father-in-law's lumber business for several years when he decided to open a lumberyard of his own. To finance the venture, Fred and his wife, Pat, sold their car and put everything else they owned up for collateral. They bought a used pickup and an old lumber truck, then leased some property at 65th and S Streets in Sacramento.

I am a pro remodeler that just moved to Sacramento and I needed a good lumber yard that sells quality materials and delivers. I shopped around and found Anderson to be a pro lumber yard and not a place crowded with DIYs. The counter was never busy at all when I was there but that may be a sign of the ambient economy. My first order was a framing package for rebuilding an old porch. I ordered a lot of resawn Douglas Fir beams and rafter material and it was some of the best material I have ever seen. Framing lumber was all free of heart compared to HD that has the heart in every twisty stick
