JD Cooper founded Lowcountry Hurricane Protection & Shutters in 2006. He wanted to create a local business that made a difference in the lives of the people in his community. It takes a lot of hard work to properly select and install hurricane impact rated shutters. But, Cooper has never been afraid of hard work.
Bahama shutters provide generous sun shading, privacy, and powerful hurricane protection while also offering an exotic Caribbean island look. These shutters are hinged at the top and articulates out from the bottom. The bottom of the shutter is held out with a telescoping arm so that you can adjust the shutter to your liking.
Hurricane shutters are engineered products that are designed to limit damage to building openings (windows and doors) that may be caused by high winds and flying debris. They may be permanently attached to your home or removable. The best reason to purchase hurricane shutters is to protect your loved ones.

I purchased Hurricane impact board snd batten shutters on my home. Every employee was professional, knowledgeable , personable, and patient and informative during my decision process . The communication was impeccable!
Once installed , I was given extensive direction and hands on practice to insure I understood the mechanism to open and close the shutters.

I have used another shutter company that was poorly managed and had terrible results. Always make sure the company that sells you the shutters is the same company that installs them!
After that experience I found Lowcountry Hurricane Protection & Shutters. Wow what a difference. They are real professionals. They installed 4 new large electric shutters and serviced 7 more existing ones.
When hurricane season starts I do not want to worry if my shutters will work or not. It's too late then. John and his crew gives me that safe feeling. I highly recommend them!
