At times, it's nearly impossible to concentrate at work and by the time you get home, you are so exhausted that it's difficult to even get dinner on the table or help the kids with homework. You've been pulling back at work, distancing from friends, and feel 'checked-out' around family. The only thing that seems to bring you some peace, let alone sleep, is a glass (or three) of wine, hours of Netflix, or chocolate cake.
In fact, you've done exactly what you "should" have done the whole way through - established a good career and climbed the corporate ladder, raised children and cultivated meaningful relationships - and yet there is something missing.

Therapy can feel uncomfortable and intimidating. Through an underlying stance of non-judgment, I join with you wherever you are on this journey. I won't push an agenda on you. Hello, my name is Rachel Baker. I am confident everyone is filled with the capacity for change and I will hold that hope for you, even if you've lost your own sense of optimism and ability.
It's getting harder and harder to find the energy to meet work deadlines. So often you're caught up taking care of everyone and everything else that it's difficult to find joy being around family and friends. It feels like you're failing on all fronts and you aren't sure what your purpose is anymore.
You're the rock of the family. You make sure everyone and everything is taken care of. If people knew the pressure you were under, they would understand that you just need a break. You've been so focused on what you should do in life and now find yourself asking, "Is this it?" Or maybe you're bored, you've lost your fire, and alcohol helps you not focus on the fact that you're just going through the motions.
I work individually with adults struggling with overwhelm, anxiety and/or substance abuse - people who are ready to dig deep, learn skills and make the necessary changes in order to create a life that is filled with peace and purpose. I do not offer couples or family counseling. I am considered an "out of network provider" and do not bill insurance.
During this call, I want to learn what your goals are for therapy, answer any questions you have, and let you know a little about my practice to make sure we're a good fit. Messages are usually returned within 24-hours on normal business days, Monday through Thursday 9:00am to 4:00pm.

As a peer, I have known Rachel for approximately 10 years. Her reputation proceeds her as a client-centered, compassionate clinician who "meets clients where they're at" in order to effect positive change. Ethical-to a fault if that were even possible. I would recommend Rachel above others in the helping profession to promote mental/emotional wellness.

Rachel is one of the most knowledgeable therapists out there. She is able to help you hold your anxiety and overwhelm, acknowledge and validate it, and then move forward in a more productive and healthy way. She is able to show compassion but also has the ability and strength to hold you accountable for making movement. If you are looking to make real changes in your life, she would be a great therapist for you. As a colleague I can highly recommend her services.

As a fellow professional counselor and Motivational Interviewing Trainer, I refer clients and friends to Rachel with confidence. She is an empathic listener and people immediately feel at ease with her because of her warm and accepting approach. Rachel helps people to identify their own motivations for change and then fully explore their thoughts, choices, feelings, and beliefs in order to accomplish that change and healing.
