Above Board Construction & Roofing was founded in March of 2001, when CEO, Carl Hawkins, opened his original roofing company in Humboldt County, California.
In 2005, he added a general B classification to his license, and began not only roofing homes, but building them as well. In 2007, he relocated to Redding, California, even though he performed the majority of his work still in Humboldt County and along the North Coast. Carl has always had a passion for education and properly training the next generation of craftsmen.

We all come from a construction background which adds to our knowledge base tremendously. This means basic construction services that must be done, can be done internally, without bringing in outside vendors. This keeps our costs down which means it keeps your costs down as well. You don't need delays or hiccups in your budget because of us.
Roof inspections don't always have to be right after a storm blows through. We encourage you to call us over for an inspection anytime you see the signs of a failing roof or even if you only suspect there might be a problem. Knowing is always the best path. Avoiding a catastrophic failure of your roof at any time is always a smart move.

ABC came highly recommended, but I am struggling to figure out why. Signed the contract with a start date scheduled 3 months later. They finally started on the roof 7 months after I signed the contract and only after I asked for my money back so I could go elsewhere.
Took them a month to get a final inspection approved. Two months later I am still picking up nails, roofing material and other refuse left behind by their install crews. Praying that the actual work on the roof is better than their clean up.
While their office staff was friendly and helpful, their scheduler/estimator(?) was rude

ABC construction was amazing!! Angel was always there for us and did a great job explaining the process and making sure we were informed and happy through the entire process of getting a new roof! He was available to answer questions and even helped us get a little extra roof work done at the same time!!
There’s been a lot of out of state companies coming in trying to steal local business, thankful we found a local company who knew how to take care of us.
I would definitely us them again and am very thankful for all they did to take care of us!!

We have hail damage to our roof. Our insurance company denied our claim. We had contacted many roofing companies whom gave us an estimate, but we never physically saw them measure or inspect our roof. After talking with many neighbors around us and seeing all the new roofs in our neighborhood their insurance covered, we were very frustrated. Then we noticed our neighbor to the south of us having Above Board Construction inspecting their roof. They have the same insurance company as we do and they were getting their roof replaced. That is when I called them and they were out almost the next day

Above Board did an incredible job for us. Everyone we dealt with, from laborers to management, was professional, polite and very respectful. They handled all of our insurance issues and helped make the entire experience a smooth one for us. Angel was very responsive and extremely helpful throughout. We'd highly recommend this company.
