The Long Island Ballet Center
The Ballet Center, Ballet Long Island and The Theater Company are all in the same location. Each is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to make the arts available and affordable to everyone. The Ballet Center is founded on the belief that the study of dance gives students the skills and creativity to develop their own personal expression.

This will carry over into every aspect of their lives. Guidance, support and challenge in a positive learning environment offer opportunities for personal and artistic growth. Classes include: Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz dance, Contemporary dance, Hip-Hop Acting Musical Theater offered for preschoolers, Kids, Teens and Adults.
Services
The Ballet Center and Artistic Director Debra Punzi has provided dance education on Long Island for over 40 years. Ballet is our main course of study however we have expert teachers in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Acting and Tap for all ages, young and adult alike.

The Ballet Center is competition-free; that is not to say our students are not competitive, just that we do not promote sports-like competitions that are more lucrative than educational.Rather our dance education is centered around stage performance. Professional quality dance productions with Ballet Long Island provide students with theater experience and the opportunity to refine their dance technique.
This class is a basic introduction to classical ballet for children. It includes preparatory exercises to develop coordination, while kindling the imagination of the child, ballet barre and basic ballet steps. Emphasis in this class will be placed on learning basic positions of the feet, head and arms (port de bras).
Little ballerinas will learn new ballet skills and concepts, and improve their balance, rhythm, and flexibility. A special class for the very young child. Basic dance technique, songs, and dances stressing locomotor movements, dress up and make believe. We will use stories, imagination games and props like scarves, shakers, ribbons and hoola hoops to encourage movement.
The Acting Musical Theater class is an exciting adventure. Each week students will learn to express themselves more easily, gain confidence, self-esteem, improve communication skills and develop poise. We will be doing relaxation and breathing exercises, voice work, theater games, improvisations, such as walking around "in character."
The Ballet Center offers a broad scholarship program for its students. To encourage and support our serious dance students, The Ballet Center offers significant reductions in tuition for those who qualify. The broad scope of this scholarship program is exclusive to The Ballet Center. During the semester 20201- 22, Artistic Director, Debra Punzi, will offer one hundred fifty (150) scholarships to deserving students.
