Services
The Society is governed by a Board of Directors composed of the President, the President-Elect, the Vice President, the Immediate Past President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and nine Members-at-Large. The Members-at-Large are rotated by electing three new members each year to serve a three-year term each.
Specific projects have included support of the Tennessee Medical Foundation Mental Health Summit, leadership training at AMA and TMA conferences for physicians in all career stages and general operations for Church Health and other charities. The Foundation's Board of Directors is comprised of Past Presidents of Memphis Medical Society, the Treasurer and the CEO.
MEMPAC, the Political Action Committee component of Memphis Medical Society, exists to advance the legislative interests of the members of The Memphis Medical Society. It is a non-partisan PAC. It's Board of Directors is composed of members of the Memphis Medical Society.
MEMPAC works very closely with the MMS Legislative Committee, TMA Legislative Committee and IMPACT to determine what issues are most important to our membership and which candidates we should support in order to advance our issues.We currently only support Shelby County elected officials, with rare exceptions made for physician candidates in other parts of the state.
