Memphis Medical Society
The Memphis Medical Society is a non-profit, physician professional organization, dedicated to uniting and advocating for the physicians of Shelby County and their patients. The Society is a trusted source of up-to-date healthcare industry news and resources to make physicians' lives better at home and at practice.

It is the local chapter of the Tennessee Medical Association. 2 Create an inclusive medical community that supports and advocates for physicians, their practices, and their patients. The Society is committed to providing a professional work environment that maintains employee equality, dignity, and respect.
Services
The Society is governed by a Board of Directors composed of the President, the President-Elect, the Vice President, the Immediate Past President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and nine Members-at-Large. The Members-at-Large are rotated by electing three new members each year to serve a three-year term each.
Specific projects have included support of the Tennessee Medical Foundation Mental Health Summit, leadership training at AMA and TMA conferences for physicians in all career stages and general operations for Church Health and other charities. The Foundation's Board of Directors is comprised of Past Presidents of Memphis Medical Society, the Treasurer and the CEO.
MEMPAC, the Political Action Committee component of Memphis Medical Society, exists to advance the legislative interests of the members of The Memphis Medical Society. It is a non-partisan PAC. It's Board of Directors is composed of members of the Memphis Medical Society.

MEMPAC works very closely with the MMS Legislative Committee, TMA Legislative Committee and IMPACT to determine what issues are most important to our membership and which candidates we should support in order to advance our issues.We currently only support Shelby County elected officials, with rare exceptions made for physician candidates in other parts of the state.
The Memphis Medical Society is home to more than 2,300 members spanning all career stages and almost 100 specialties. The Memphis Medical Society has partnered with BenefitEd to provide a range of benefits that allow healthcare employers to address the rising costs of higher education. One of the exciting new offerings is the ability for employers to match their employees' student loan payments within the company's existing budget.
