Yosh's Deli hasn't always served uniquely prepared sandwiches to the fine folk of Reno, Nevada. What you know and love today about this specialty sandwich shop started out as Unique Delicatessen in 1973. It truly lived up to its name as it was the first of its kind in the Northern Nevada area and quickly gained a loyal clientele.
Joseph and Peggy Castillo's "old world" deli featured fresh meats and cheeses, homemade soups and salads, imported food and beverages from around the world. Like the generations of culinary artists that came before them, Josh and Debbie, the current owners and operators of Yosh's Deli, add their own "unique" and innovative recipes with an inspired passion for home-cooked food. They roast and smoke all of their meats and have incorporated local produce by partnering with the Slow Food Movement in Reno.
We make classic sandwiches with a twist. And that twist is fresh, local, made from scratch ingredients. Over our years of family recipes, holiday meals, and running Yosh's Deli, we've noticed the difference. When you take the time to make your food with quality ingredients it makes a huge difference.
We love trying new things, and have the crazy idea that you might like that too. That's why we offer weekly special. Every week we will offer a new sandwich, salad, and bread, that you can try. I was really looking forward to trying the sandwiches here. Their website highlights that they have very high quality meats and bread. However, my Cinque Terre turkey sandwich and pulled pork sandwiches came at room temperature. The turkey sandwich had next to no tomato bruschetta, which was disappointing. It was also unappetizing that the pulled pork came so cold. Also, when the plates came to the table, I didn't receive my pulled pork sandwich, when I mentioned that I had ordered it, the employee didn't seem to believe me and was surprised, but I had paid for it so she did eventually bring it

The food was good, just not great overall. The onion bread was really good and the pickle was too, but the meat was lacking. Their picture on their website had the French dip piled high with meat which is why I came here but the sandwich I received had 2 layers of meat. It was also well priced, 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks for $23.

Yosh catered a bagged lunch for my company and it was a hit!
We ordered 33 lunches, in a combination of bagged lunch which consisted of a sandwich, chips and cookie. We also ordered salads.
Staff: Ordering was so easy! Great customer service.
All orders were accurate and the staff even took the initiative to write employee names on each bag (which saved us valuable time). The two people helping upon order pick up, were kind, very helpful and professional.
Food: The salads and sandwiches were delicious!! Fresh and abundant ingredients. Everything looked like the pictures on the menu

This place is just not for me, idk how you can call yourself a deli and not have a regular turkey sandwich. Maybe they have one but the menu is really hard to read written on a chalk board, it’s 2021 people just print it out. Even the website font is very different. I’m sure some people love this place but I won’t be back.

Happy to find Yosh's Unique Deli open during our first visit, September 2020. Freshly prepared breads which include: Sweet french, sourdough, dutch crunch, pesto parmesan, swiss onion rolls, buckweat roll, sliced marble rye, 9 grain wheat, gluten-free foccacia, or lettuce wrap- how can you go wrong? Amazing salads and lunch specials.

If you like friendly with your sandwich this place is not for you. I spoke to or made eye contact with several employee's and not one returned a pleasantry or smile. Some guy moving chairs looked like he wanted to fight me, the lady who gave me my sandwich yelled my name, slammed it on the counter and walked away. Was going to order a drink and dessert but wisely decided against it. In summary, I CAN GET A SANDWICH ANYWHERE....KINDNESS AND A SMILE WILL ENSURE I GET IT FROM YOU.

Tried them out again and even worse sandwich than the first time. They use some sort of stock pictures on their website because as another reviewer showed, the French dip advertised and the French dip you get is atrociously different. Not sure why they show a sandwich stuffed with meat, when I have to order double meat and don't get the amount shown in the "regular" meat picture. Why not take actual pictures of what you serve to customers. Today my sandwich is barely edible. The dutch crust bread is burnt with no crunch, it's disintegrating upon touching my lips. The sandwich

This is one of my FAVORITE sandwich spots in Reno! I always do a Build Your Own half sandwich with tomato soup combo. The bread is completely homemade, and I obsess over the Pesto Parmesan flavor. I always look forward to the tomato soup as well - it has to be one of my favorites in Reno. The ingredients are so fresh.
This is a busy spot, especially at lunch time! However, I have never had trouble finding a spot to sit. I have also never waited longer than 10-15 minutes for my food.
Didn't get any pictures because I always eat my meal faster than I can remember to get a picture here!!

This deli is definitely a favorite of mine. As someone who has been waiting for a Panera to come to Reno, Yosh's is my go to place when I am craving Panera. Not only do they provide the best comfort food you need on a cold day, they also make all of their breads and baked goods on the premise. Everything is so fresh and delicious, you really can't choose wrong!
I also have to mention how friendly and well the customer service is! It's often pretty busy, but the people working here are so kind, go above and beyond for you and are so helpful with anything you need!

Such a beautiful afternoon, my bestie recommended Yosh's as some post-Cov vaccination nourishment. After today's visit, I was slightly disappointed that I didn't know about them sooner! We arrived at the perfect time on a Saturday because we managed to snag perfect seating on the patio. Today's special - a tri-tip melt with horseradish aioli. SOLD. As someone that really enjoys a little bite in their horseradish to the point that the sinuses are clear for 2 days, I typically chat about it when ordering and often ask for extra. Today, I got distracted by the amazing salad options

This was our second time eating lunch here, and it did not disappoint! Took advantage of the beautiful weather and ate outside. Both hubby and I got combos (me 1/2 tuna 1/2 house salad, and him 1-2 rueben and tomato pepper soup). Both meals were absolutely delish! Portions were larger than I expected for mine too! The bread is super soft/chewy, and the salad had so many amazing ingredients (cucumbers, homemade croutons, roasted red onions, candied nuts and cranberries) not your typical "house salad". The homemade shallot vinaigrette dressing was absolutely the perfect topping to the already

It's obvious that I am obsessed with this deli. I've tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Yosh conjures up a new special every week. So far, all have been extraordinary. Soups, salads, sandwiches, all originating on sight.
I love to dip everything from chips to sandwiches. I never order anything À la carte. Another reason this is the perfect spot. My wife does a half salad/half sandwich. I always get a half soup/half sandwich (I'm getting too old to eat the entire thing). That way I get a fabulous soup to 'accidentally drop my sammy in
