Heard good things and finally stopped in. They are all true, great ambiance, great food, great cocktails, nice staff. It's not down town which is a plus when you can't find parking or just need to change it up. Really warm, laid back relaxing atmosphere. Sitting options are covered with all needs: Booths, bar, dinner style big table, outside sitting with gorgeous views.
Same goes with their Great selection of foods with accommodating genuine friendly services. I had small beef brisket with side of farm vegetable, it was delicious! My husband's burger was cooked to perfection. This place is such a great find, tucked away from downtown Ashland so quiet and exclusive.

Services
Luna Cafe and Mercantile is a casual eatery with great tastes and treats for the whole family! Located inside the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites, this Oregon-centric restaurant offers food cooked from scratch with a focus on fresh and local. A hip throwback to the 70's, Luna's specialty is gourmet pizza, burgers, vegetarian options, artisan coffees, house-made pastries, micro brews, cocktails, and the region's best local wines and cheeses.
Someone once said it's the journey, not the destination. We beg to differ. Don't get us wrong, we love a good journey; we live in Southern Oregon where outdoor adventures and one of a kind experiences abound. But at the end of the day, we believe visitors to Southern Oregon are entitled to more than just room, board and a bite to eat.
Please review some practices and experiences you can anticipate when you come to dine at Luna. Our restaurant is sanitized and maintained with daily cleaning to ensure our guests are safe and comfortable. All customer-contact surfaces are disinfected between each seating, including tables, seats, condiments and salt & pepper shakers.
Some friends and I had just enjoyed (mostly) the Steve Martin play "Picasso at the Lapine Agile" at the Cabaret Theater in Ashland. The matinee ended at 3 p.m., and the butternut squash/carrot soup tasted great, but didn't stick. I'd seen where Luna Cafe inside Ashland Hills Inn had begun serving Sunday evening jazz from.

Wow! What a great meal. We weren't expecting everything to be so good. Generous portions as well. Tip: the Mac & cheese side is well worth the $1.00 charge. That would have been an entire meal for my daughter when she was little. It was delicious. Pasta was aldente and lot of fresh cheeses. Kale and Brussels salad was delicious as was everything. We are on a road trip and brought food back to our hotel. It was way more in both quantity and QUALITY than we expected. Don't hesitate if you are looking for fresh and delicious.

Whenever we stay in Ashland Oregon, we try to stay at the Ashland hills hotel. It's a consistently cozy and excellent customer service place to stay and the other big reason is Luna Cafe!
This is not just a good hotel restaurant, it's simply an excellent, delicious choice for foodies.
The menu changes all the time but there are always creative and delicious choices for entrees and sides and even cocktails have an artisan quality.
It's also a very cozy and enjoyable place to hang out, grab a bite, have a drink etc..
There's no doubt that Luna Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Ashland.

We were staying at the hotel and weren't expecting much from the hotel restaurant. Boy were we surprised! The sandwiches were excellent, and could be swapped with gluten free bread. The chili was spicy and made from scratch. The pizza dough wasn't pre packaged, but was light and airy. A surprisingly tasty experience!

Based on the other good reviews here I am guessing this place has some sort of staff issue. Our dinner was terrible. We had the steak and salmon. Both portions were tiny. The steak was undercooked and untasty. I literally offered half to my dog and she refused it. The salmon was covered in too much pepper. The veggies were so over seasoned that we could not eat them. The salad was tiny. $75 later, we were still hungry. Service was sort of surly. Hope they can fix this as we love the hotel and will return.

DO NOT - I repeat, DO NOT order a burger at this restaurant. I ordered a regular burger cooked medium (which I was informed by the staff is their "standard" cook on the burgers they serve). What I was served for $15.00 was a RAW hamburger that was just seared on the outside. The blood from the meet was actually coating the bun it was served on. When I returned it, there was no apology, and I waited another 10 minutes to be returned to me. When they did give me a new burger, it was cooked a little more in part and still very rare in other parts. The cooktop obviously does not cook evenly. Other

We were hungry and this was the first place on our travels that we could stop at. We both ordered the burger, which was supposed to come on brioche. The bread was as flat as pita bread, definitely not brioche. It was literally swimming in some type of Mayo combination sauce. Possibly one teaspoon of lettuce and a micro thin tomato slice. Overpriced and not worth the money.

Dinner here was good. Everyone was happy. Staff was friendly & helpful. Food was served in a timely fashion.
I ordered the kale & brussel salad, with the brisket strew & rosemary bread. The salad was amazing! The goat cheese crumble across the top made every bite creamy & delicious. Too many hazelnuts for me, but they were easy to pick off. The mango dressing was perfect. Not too strong & not too much. It came tossed & I was nervous, I like light dressing, no soup, not dripping, it was the perfect amount. The stew was mostly potatoes, that was a bit of a letdown, but I

Drinks and Food are amazing! The craft drink menu is the best in Ashland.
Only down side is, It's a hit or miss whether you get friendly service. I've had two encounters with two amazing servers& uncomfortable encounters with two servers. Overall experience is good but definitely could be better with better service.

Saw it on Yelp for the first time today (while staying in a nearby hotel) and all the other reviews were right! It was delicious! Way, way, way exceeded our expectations! Definitely try the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies (if you don't like meatloaf or are vegetarian then just get the sides; veggies are super flavorful). Luna salad was also really yummy (I added feta and a smidge of S&P), as was the triple grilled cheese. Highly recommend!

My wife and I lodged at the adjacent Ashland Hills motel and ordered takeout: one Cobb salad and one meatloaf entree. Both items were generous in size and delicious. Ingredients were of high quality and the mixed veggies with the meatloaf were spectacular. Great value for the price. Will definitely eat there again when we come through Ashland.

We checked into the Ashland Hills Hotel late, so we decided to just pick up food from here rather than driving around Ashland for dinner. You can't miss this place as the retro turquoise Luna Cafe sign is right next to the main entrance to the hotel. The place looked modern and clean, and the staff were wearing mask. I even noticed one of them disinfecting around the register, so that's a good sign. No one helped us at first, but that was only because the lady at the register was taking a phone order and our stomachs were busy staring at the menu board. The two ladies working there

Staying at the hotel. I was skeptical about eating here for some reason. Ordered a Ruben with fries and a spinach and goat cheese salad to split. The Ruben was excellent, great "real" meat, the fries were crispy to perfection with large delicious salt flakes. House made ketchup took it to a "whole other level"! The salad was tart and slightly sweet and refreshing. Also asked for a side of their house made ranch which was also great, kind of a dill ranch.
Deserts, yes please! Ordered a type of custard with a slightly tart rhubarb jelly on top. Not too sweet or heavy but perfect. Ordered a chocolate

I come in here all the time, service is usually great and food is delicious. When I came in today the girl was extremely rude. I ordered a glass of wine that I paid $9 for and received a 3 oz pour. If that's where they're going to pour their wine at then they need to mark it on the menu. I have worked in the industry for 21 yrs as a bartender and a wine rep and have never paid so much for such a pathetic pour. I am currently working as a bartender and am appalled at the service I received at this restaurant. When I mentioned it to the girl at the counter she said, "that's where

Staff was not very warm and welcoming. They didn't give me the time I needed to look over the menu at the counter and seemed annoyed that I could quickly give them my order.
Drink was good but expensive for the small amount.
I will prob try again so that I can sit outside for the view but would not be my first choice.

This restaurant was excellent! We didn't have the opportunity to visit in person but enjoyed ordering dinner two nights in a row during our stay at Lithia Springs Resort. We enjoyed flatbread and salads one night and then a yummy salmon dinner the next. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Delivery was prompt. Don't hesitate to order the daily dessert. We ordered just to see what we would get and were treated to a wonderful lemon cheese cake which was more than enough for two people. Yum!

The food was not good. My reuben sandwich was oily and soggy and the chicken wrap was pretty average. The fries were soggy also. That said, my issue was less with the food and more with the unfriendly cashier.
I would recommend the management teach their employees some patience and cultural sensitivity.
After ordering a to go order, she asked me for my name, which I proceeded to give and spell for her. She quickly became annoyed and interrupted me, asking me to give her my first name, not my last. I informed her that I was giving her my first name, and proceeded to spell it out for her.

I ordered the cobb salad. It made me feel like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz because I was like, "Oh, we aren't in California any more!"
The salad was as big as my HEAD, jam-packed with ingredients and appropriately priced. If I lived in Oregon, I would definitely stop by again. The ambiance of this place can't be beat and I love that all utensils, water and to-go boxes are accessible.

I was extremely impressed with the food here. I had both the breakfast pizza and the huevos rancheros and both had excellent flavors and consistency.
Price was exceptionally low considering this place is located within a hotel.
Oh! And before I forget, the coffee that they new is delicious! I had regular coffee while my wife had a mocha. I don't care for chocolate milk coffee, but it was tasty considering that. My coffee (regular coffee) was excellent. Bold in flavor yet not acidic.
The interior is very pleasant and well designed. Tables and seating areas for small and medium sized groups.
