I have been doing clothing alterations and custom sewing in Palo Alto for more than 40 years. I learned my trade with old school values of quality and perfectionism. My success is due partially to my accomplished fitting techniques, but more importantly, it is driven by my amazing staff that appreciates and works with me to maintain the quality that we are known for.

Jacquie did a fabulous job on my dress, it was better than I even knew possible! After purchasing my dress, I was concerned about how large the top was on me. It was a somewhat architecturally complex piece so I did a lot of research to find the right tailor/seamstress. I was so happy with Jacquie's work. Despite being strapless, I didn't find myself trying to pull up the dress at all. It fit perfectly. Despite being fairly far from my home, Jacquie's is worth the drive.

I can't recommend Jacquie's highly enough. I bought my wedding dress off the rack one week (!) before my micro-wedding and Jacquie's team altered it perfectly in a crazy-fast turnaround. No hassle or up charge for the quick turnaround, either. I was so happy with how it fit and it made me start thinking about all the other items I should have altered! Despite COVID weight gain, I was thrilled with how the dress looked on me. Thanks!

I hadn't had anything hemmed in a while due to shelter in place and working from home. Not much need for "regular" clothes but recently got a shirt that was clearly not my size but the price was too good to pass up. Took the shirt to Jacquie's to get the sleeves shortened and talk through the process of possibly taking it in. The tailor walked me through the process of what was necessary to take in the shirt and how much it would cost and we ended up deciding to just shorten the sleeves. The tailor was honest and thorough and when I picked up my shirt the sleeves were done

Jacquie has been altering my special occasion dresses and outfits for over 20 years. When I walk in the door, I feel a sense of calm knowing that Jacquie will transform a dress or outfit that I purchased into a perfect fit for my body which gives me the confidence to walk into a party or work situation. The workmanship of her shop is top notch, especially with lace and complicated lines. I wish I could give Jacquie and her team 10 stars!!

This place knows how to work magic with a needle and thread! They altered my wedding dress and it turned out GORGEOUS! They had to do a bit of reconstructive work to pull up the bottom of the lace, as well as add an extra layer of tule to the see through section on my chest. Couldn't be happier. Even Sheryl sandberg goes here!

I got my wedding dress hemmed here, and their work is amazing. However, I was extremely disappointed when I went to pick up my dress only to be told that it wasn't ready and they were actually having me do another fitting. It was not communicated to me that my dress was not ready, nor was it communicated to me that instead of it taking 6-8 hours it was now taking 9.5hours. They charge $95/hour, so I was quite upset that they did not inform me of this change. I only found out because upon leaving, I asked how many hours we were at. While my dress is quite intricate, this should still have been

I'm very sad to give them only 2 stars because the staff is lovely and I really liked Jackie.
However, my dress had major issues. There were multiple layers of crinoline on the skirt and when I put it on the day of the wedding, one of the layers remained long - they just missed hemming it so I had to take a pair of scissors to it about an hour before the ceremony to avoid tripping constantly.
The bustle was also a problem in that it was held up by 5 buttons but if I moved or turned to look over my shoulder or sat down or anything, the skirt came off the button and created an uneven hem

Jacquie and her team are fantastic!
I was referred by the sales person at BHLDN and came to her in October 2019 for a wedding in January 2020. Add to this the holidays and the fact that I would be traveling for a month before the wedding and we were pretty tight on time.
She and everyone I met were friendly and easy to work with. The alteration is pricy but given the intricate details of my dress, I wasn't going to mess around.
I purchased a mermaid dress for my petite 5'2" frame. I wanted to keep the train's length but needed to add a bustle so I wouldn't trip over

I had a great experience with Jacquie and her team when getting my wedding dress altered! They shortened the straps for me and added a bustle. The bottom of my dress had a lacy pattern on it that made bustling a bit tricky, but they really did a great job making sure the pattern could still be seen. Jacquie also gave me guidance on what kinds of undergarments to wear which was super helpful! The cost of the alterations were affordable and it was very easy to schedule an appointment. Highly recommend!

They did a beautiful job with my wedding dress, I couldn't ask for more! Cost is average, and you get what you pay for. I didn't want to risk having my dress not correctly done so I came here.
Would definitely come back with my other alterations now that I know they are here. Do make an appointment to try to save some time.

Let me tell you about Jacquie her uhhh-mazing Alyssa! These girls are dream makers.
My wedding dress started with a standard corset at the top and already somewhat fitted from the top to my knees, the train on this thing is as so long that you wonder who might hitch a ride as I walk by. Then there's the lace and beading. They certainly makes their presence known all over.
I'll hold off on posting pictures until after the wedding but to give you an idea of effort...
