I will say the guys at Troy's Tropics do amazing work. They cleaned up some of the palms we use as a border and for privacy. This was so over grown and needed cleaned out and the dead stumps removed. The before and after is just outstanding Got all the crap removed, thinned out and new top soil and sod was put down Excellent crew ! Highly recommend the folks at Troys Tropixs for all your landscaping needs. Prices are pretty good too

Very nice Plant Nursery, Wide variety of plants and trees, Very nice helpful workers and very fair prices. We came here after checking the Albritton Nursery up the road and found the tree we were looking at there was $53 cheaper here at Troy's! Same tree and Size! They also had more variety to pick from. We will definitely be coming back here from now on for our landscape needs.

New to Sarasota and not familiar with plants that grow well in this weather. We were pleasantly surprised when we found Troy's Tropics!! They had an amazing variety of plants and trees. Prices were much lower than I'm used to paying in the North East. The place was crawling with very helpful employees that answered every question I had. So happy I have found my new "go to" nursery!!

I can not recommend Troy's higher. They've always been the place for great plants and planters and all my greenhouse needs, but they've expanded over the last couple years to include actual landscaping, which is just amazing.
Their customer service is through the roof good, and their attention to detail and willingness to make sure their customers are 100% satisfied makes all the difference in the world! Their landscaping department is amazing. From start to finish, they have the staff and the ability to make sure all the jobs are done right.

I did not throw anyone's phone, you're trying to make me out like some Hormonal crazy lady. You did a horrible job. Period. Potato plants that grow vines 8 feet long... Not to mention real potatoes. I did not need ground cover... I just wanted nice plants. You did not do your job... Nor did you care. Say whatever you want to about me.. it does not change the facts.

Please be aware that this company can discriminate in choosing to do business with you. Alex Barth will be glad to take your money up front for a landscape design, and then out of the blue weeks later, into the design phase drop you like a hot potato. He will waste your time waiting to get an appointment and waste even more time holding on to your money deciding whether to do the job. After several delays, they are all of a sudden 'To Busy' to complete the job. It is truly shocking in this day and age to see the 'behind the scenes pick and choose' who you want to work

I was waiting to write the review until I was sure that my landscaping was going to stick! I know watering is a big part of the success, but I wanted to tell you the reason why I chose Troys Tropics. To start, I visited 5 other nurseries and Troys plants and trees were the healthiest. They were green, even during the drought times. I was greeted by a very helpful young man who assisted me with my purchase. He measured, suggested, assisted, and planned for me. I hired Alex and his team to do a refresh on my landscape. After living in my home for three years I realized that the builder furnished plants weren't adding the color and wow factor I was wanting. Alex has a great deal of knowledge about plants yet also listens to the customers wishes. His follow through is exceptional. Pricing is competitive to other landscapers in the area. The job was completed on time. I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience and will definitely hire Troy's Tropics for future jobs.

I hired Alex Barth from Troy's Tropics to completely re do my front yard in landscaping. He was extremely professional, courteous, reasonable, and timely. The plants arrived in pristine condition and they were staged beautifully. Alex and his team did a phenomenal job completing the job in a timely manner and my front yard was completely transformed. I was blown away at Alex's depth of knowledge in his field and his ability to articulate it to me and my wife. No one will ever get my landscaping business except Alex Barth and Troys Tropics! 5 Star Experience all the way around!

I shop at Troy's whenever I am near there. I live in the next town. I like their plants and find them knowlegible. One thing I really like is that they don't carry plants not suitable for this area or plants that are at the end of the proper planting season. They are often less expensive than the chain stores but if higher, it is a better quality plant and better cared for.

I went here to buy some new flowers and shrubs for my grandma's backyard. The selection was pretty limited and the prices seemed a little high. We wanted some bougainvillea bushes, but they only had large ones for $15. The staff that day seemed inexperienced, so instead of asking for alternatives we just drove to Home Depot (which is unfortunate, because I like supporting local businesses). Home Depot had much better selection and prices, and the plants looked healthier to boot.
