The seeds for Albritton's Nursery were planted over 40 years ago. Growing up the owner, Robert Albritton, a Sarasota native was involved in his parents family-owned business selling locally-grown citrus, vegetables and cut flowers. Robert demonstrated his love of plants by adapting the family business to what it is today - a successful plant nursery & retail garden center.

Albritton's Nursery is a nursery in the truest sense; we have been locally growing plants for landscapers and homeowners for over 30 years. Robert's expertise in growing Poinsettias, Easter lilies, Hydrangeas and annuals sets the nursery apart from all others. Albritton's Nursery has everything to make your gardening project successful!
Services
We start Poinsettias every August! We grow 5 different sizes in Red, Pink and White plants. Our availability varies by size and color, so it is important that you call or stop by to place your order. When removing the protective sleeves from your Poinsettias, due care is necessary to avoid breakage.

The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They will teach you the things that you should and should not do for the health of that plant. David and Kyle will stop no matter how busy to answer questions. Great plant selection and pottery. Get there early before it gets hot.

Had questions about a white mold in the soil of my house plants, the gentleman that assisted me via phone advised me that he didn't know what it was, and then stated that it was caused by white milli bugs. When I asked if they had any products to help, the gentleman said "no," and that I needed to call an exterminator. No other assistance, or help was offered. I felt like I was bothering him. (am also new to the Sarasota area)
Contacted Tropiflora, and spoke with Scott. He confirmed my concerns that it was mold, and I found out that my soil was expired (didn't know that could be an issue). Am

SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. They closed early after I called to confirm I would be there a few minutes before closing but I knew exactly what I wanted and was on the way.
They said it would be no problem.
When I got there they were closed.. Leaving employees said they closed 5 minutes early because they opened 5 minutes early. That is just bad business!
My family has shopped here for years and I can't believe the lack of care given to a customer who called in advance.
They clearly do not want my business or the business of anyone else I know. I've told several people recently where I've been getting

We went blueberry picking. This is a fun activity, especially during the pandemic. The staff were friendly and helpful and we are still enjoying the delicious berries.

The selection are healthy and nice variety but the older guy working the counter was so rude. I get that they do lots of business with contractors and most of the money comes from them but regardless it’s not hard to be professional and treat everyone fair. His demeanor towards me was simply rude. Good luck to anyone else hope yalls experience is better than mine!

I confess I have never used this company, mostly because I live elsewhere. But I had a flat tire on my bike and was repairing it on the sidewalk next to Albritton's Nursery. The owner came out to see if he could help offering his air compressor. I will suggest that a man as helpful as that probably would be equally as helpful with your landscape needs.

This nursery doesn’t stand behind what they sell. I purchased several plants and all did fine after planting except for one plant. They cited reasons for why the plant was dying and refused to replace even though an identical plant in the same area was thriving. They were indifferent to my attempt to simply ask for a replacement for the $14.00 plant. Oh well, I hope they feel good for showing they aren’t willing to go out of their way to make their customer happy! To a “weekend “ gardener, plants are plants. It’s the people selling them that make the difference.
