Services
Resurfacing is a common solution for asphalt in disrepair. Resurfacing consists of installing a new layer of asphalt over existing asphalt. Although specifications and requirements may differ, standard resurfacing ranges between 1 " - 2". Where curbing, sidewalks or other grading constraints must be maintained, existing asphalt may be milled down to accommodate the new surface, ensuring a flush and consistent surface.

Lack of proper maintenance, insufficient drainage, unprofessional installation or material thickness, or improper base materials are all causes of premature failure. Depending on weather conditions, generally asphalt can be installed between May and October in Midwest Sealcoats' service area. All material is applied by hand squeegee.

Someone , a male I wish would've gotten his name who answered the phone in the office when I called to try and order sealcoating for my driveway, just automatically turned me away over the telephone. I had informed him that I needed for him to go out to one of my properties located in Plainfield, IL and he immediately said to me "Oh that's too far for us!" after he said that to me he went on to refer me to yet a different sealcoat company by the name of Fireman's. Had to call 3 time's about getting an estimate.. never heard from them. Called again today and spoke with another person. Gave them the address and they asked for the dimensions, WTH they didn't even have a record of that from the previous 3 conversations..
I told them I will find someone else , that wants the work.

Make sure you get your Estimate in writing. I had them out to seal my driveway and I received a verbal estimate by phone. This estimate included filling all cracks on my driveway. When I received the bill, I was overcharged by 15% due to crack filling. When I complained they did nothing but say they would come out and inspect the job. I never received a response after that inspection, if it was ever even done. I cannot recommend this company at this time

Last week Thursday I called and spoke to a nice gentleman Mike asking for a quote. I provided him with all the information, he gave me a sales pitch and e-mailed me a quote. Mike asked me to respond to the quote which I did immediately, and as of Tuesday I have not heard back from anyone. I decided to call and spoke to the owner Robert, who was very short and very unprofessional with me. He informed me that he schedules two months out. It would of been nice and professional to let your customers know that you are scheduling that far out! It would of been nice to get back to your customers

I have chosen Midwest Sealcoat for many years, and for several reasons. They are honest, they do a professional job, and the workers are polite and friendly. Their prices have always been competitive too.
So 2 years ago I finally had Midwest replace my 30+ year driveway. Mr. Joe Perry came over and inspected the condition and recommended a complete tear down as I expected due to the condition, then promptly provided a quote. They removed the entire asphalt and rebuilt the driveway totaling almost 400 feet in length. It still looks brand new and is pitched just right.

Before sealing my driveway, they filled the cracks, but didn't remove the grass & debris. Then they put the seal over the grass & debris. The grass is growing out of the cracks & the seal is staring to peel less than 2 days after the job was done. They didn't let the filler settle before sealing & the cracks are already opening up. I called twice, both times speaking with Christie. Her response on my first call "I will pass your info to Steve(the owner I believe) & ask him to call you. A day later no call. I was willing to pay their higher costs because I was assured that they performed better quality work with better products. However, they "forgot" to mention that cleaning my driveway of grease or stains was additional that I, not being in this business, should have known to ask for. How is a customer expected to know what "additional" services to ask for? I made the mistake apparently that cleaning a driveway before sealing was standard amongst all the sealcoaters.
Bottom line is they blew off the driveway and sealed right over all of the stains so it now looks like a darker driveway with permanently
