First they were stealing copper, and now desperate thieves have moved on to stealing aluminum from various businesses in El Paso, all in the hopes of selling it off for big bucks at a recycling center. We visited Lopez Scrap Metal in Socorro who showed us what they do to prevent buying from thieves.

I visited Lopez Recycling with a small load of recyclables last Monday Oct, 2nd 2018, Just to test them out, for future business. If you don't want to read the whole thing... My recommendation.... Go Somewhere Else. I had 50+ LBs of Clean brass, 30-50 LBs of Clean Shiny Aluminum scrap, 50+ LBs of Copper Wire (insulation on), and 13+ LBs of used Copper plumbing. A scrap aluminum wheel, and a bag of aluminum cans about 12LBs. They took all of the scrap that I dropped off and threw it into their bulk bins before quoting me a price, so I couldn't even decide not to sell it to them. Oh, and
