Thai Joint On Adams
For 15 years our family has been dedicated to bringing Thai culture and innovation in the form of delicious cuisine to San Diego's restaurant scene. It all started by serving high quality meals to our night life in Hillcrest at The Asian Bistro, located at the historic Golden Dragon location.

Plumeria Vegetarian, in the heart of University Heights was created next; the concept was healthy and lifestyle conscious dishes that are exclusively vegetarian and/or vegan.Although Plumeria started out as a humble yet stylish neighborhood vegetarian restaurant, it became an instant hit and has been listed as San Diego's Premier Thai food destination by a variety of media outlets since its creation!

It's been 3 months since last visit. Today by ordered Thai Basil Rice. Once couple bites were good, BUT afterwards rice was mushy. Was disappointed just ate the shrimps.

Large glass noodle soup was good

That's all

Great Thai food! Excellent customer service. Hidden gem restaurant tucked away in Normal Heights. I had the eggplant rice with mock duck, delicious with Thai tea.

Five stars for their drunken noodles. I ordered their drunken noodles for takeout and they were very nice, friendly and quick service. Take out in tins so it keeps it hot. The drunken noodles were VERY flavorful and the best I've had in Sam Diego so far. They also have vegan options which is a huge plus! I got a spicy level 2 and I will say it hit more like a 3-4 so they're definitely on the more spicier side just to forewarn you. Otherwise definitely recommend!

This place is tiny little whole in the wall among all the titans of Normal Heights however it stand its ground and let their food and service speak for itself. I have dined in, carried out, and ordered though a carrier. In every single scenario they delivered freshly made delicious noodles! I recommend the drunken noodles, and red curry. I have tried many Thai restaurants in SD and this is definitely one you must try.
If you dine in their service is friendly, speedy and the food arrives to your table at its peak of deliciousness.
If you carry out or order through a carrier they package the food

First time trying Thai Joint. It was delicious. The yellow curry is a flavorful dish. The dish stayed so hot which was nice to have on a chilly day. The flavors in the dishes are a must try.

Updating my post with more pics! They're fresh spring rolls are amazing. I Clive this neighborhood spot. Their Thai food is great!
Great spot in Normal Hts for take out Thai food - with not a lot of space to sit inside. I ordered the Kra Pow with mock duck (see pic), it was my first time trying mock duck and it was really good. I was bummed they forgot my rice but I called and they gave me $5 towards my next meal, which was, fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Those are always amazing!
I recommend this place if you're looking for a quick Thai fix in Normal Hts.

Why go here when you can just head down a few blocks and go to Sukhothai? The food was bland. The decor was dull. A very unsatisfying experience. The website claims that it is the same owner as Sukhothai which is far superior in taste, presentation and atmosphere.

This is an eatery in the nondescript Adams Plaza where there are only five suites and very limited parking out front. The inside was nicely decorated but tiny with four tables that could seat two people each and a long high top table that could seat six. There were a couple more tables outside for seating. Most orders were take-out as those transactions were providing steady business during the time of my visit.

There were two menus, a regular one and a vegan one. I ordered the E-Sarn Sausage as an appetizer. It was a mixture of ground pork containing ginger, galangal, lemongrass, chili, and

The second I took my first bite into my noodle dish from Thai Joint, I knew I had regrets...

We ordered their chicken pad Thai (7/10) and their bbq pork drunken noodle noodle (7/10) from DoorDash.

Both dishes were on the savory side. That's a given for the drunken noodle but sometimes the pad thais could fall on savory or sweet. Nope, their pad thais were definitely well in the savory side of things.

We really enjoyed the flavors both dishes offered. The best way to describe it was rich with taste and hearty.

The noodles themselves were very chewy and tasty. It didn't break apart

I ordered Tom yum with shrimp here and I've never had a worse Tom yum. It had no color, just clear... no tomato, NO FLAVOR it literally tasted like hot water and lime juice. Also you could taste that it wasn't even real lime juice!! I'm usually not even picky but after spending 30$ on food here (plus I was starving) this was really disappointing.

One of the better Thai restaurants in San Diego. The staff is always very friendly and I enjoy eating lunch here during the week because you can get in and out quickly. The chicken pad Thai is my favorite and I get that almost every time. Great Thai food in Normal Heights!

Excellent service, very clean, nice place, big portions. As far as the food, my Pad Thai was way too sweet tasting, so sweet that I couldn't taste any other flavor in the dish. I felt like I was eating corn syrup with noodles.

Such an awesome place! I love Thai Joint on Adams. We've been going here for years -- food is *always* good and they take Covid seriously. Favorites are vegetarian yellow curry with mock duck, pad see ew, and half moon wontons (sort of like samosas)

Separate vegan menu with tons of options! Located conveniently with parking right up front, friendly staff and good eats, what's not to love?

Love this place! Every single time it is so perfectly delicious. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls is hands down my favorite of all time. Sincerely considered calling to ask what the ingredients were because I might be "allergic" to them. ;)

My very favorite dishes so far are the fresh spring rolls, See Ew, yellow curry, and holy moly the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and chicken.

The restaurant is perfectly clean and the bathroom as well :) I am so glad we found our Thai spot!

My boyfriend and I started a list of fresh spring rolls to rank them. We came here because another restaurant wasn't answering their phone.

Anyways, we just got the fresh springs rolls with shrimp. It came with peanut sauce. They were pretty good! A 7/10 on our list, however the sauce was a 9/10.

Might come back to try other options.

Absolutely stocked about this place! I was craving Thai food and decided to give it a try.
Due to Covid I ordered delivery. Everything arrived perfectly wrapped.
Their spring rolls came out super, super hot. Perfect amount of filling. I also had the fresh spring rolls. Again... Delicious! Their peanut sauce arrived warm and made to perfection.
Main dish was chicken Penang curry. Spicy level on point. I had left overs next day and it was even better.
Love it, love it!

Had the Thai bbq chicken, recommended by the waitress, over the teriyaki chicken. The chicken was cooked well. I didn’t like the dipping sauce that came with it on the side. There was also a cream cheese croquettes appetizer, which was ok. Service was good and good portion for the price.

Pick up at Thai Joint on Adams was an extremely fast and easy process. I called to place my order of Drunken Noodles with Chicken and my food was ready for pickup in less than 15 minutes.

They do not offer beef, which I typically like with drunken noodles. I found the Drunken Noodles to be the right texture and taste. Not too soggy, salty, or sweet.

Although I enjoy the dishes from Banh Thai, the local convenience of Thai Joint will keep me coming back!

The family sure loves Thai food. San Diego has quite a number of quality Thai stops so lucky us who can't afford a ticket to Bangkok.

Our most recent find has been Thai Joint On Adams.

Start off with the the following:

Tamarind Wings: Fantastic crisp coating with juicy meaty wings with a yummy tamarind sauce.

E-Sarn Sausage: Absolutely awesome sausage of ground pork, lemongrass, galangal, and Chili's.

Make sure to continue with:

The Mock Duck Larb: Holy Tofu gods this is ridiculous here. Our favorite.

Some standard faves:

Pad see ew, yellow curry, and Kai Prow.
