This is the most honest, helpful, and affordable computer repair place I have ever been. Matt at Mac Help OC is now my go-to computer professional. My 2010 MacBook Pro's performance can now compete with that of current models. This is especially helpful as I do a lot of field recording sessions and music editing on my laptop. Never have I used Yelp to write a review, but Matt at Mac Help OC deserves it ten fold. Not only did he save me the thousands of dollars it would have cost me to buy an entire new MAC, more than money, he kept me calm and showed me I could trust him to resolve my issues - and he did.
In my fast pace, I hadn't even thought to back up my MAC, and had absolutely everything on my desktop - only to wake up one morning with a screen that had completely crashed. I had zero access to all of my work. Imagine. I had used Matt many times before but never for anything this big.

Excellent and expedient work, at a very reasonable rate. Matt saved years of work and calmed my rattled nerves after restoring my stuck / semi-crashed laptop. I came in scared and sort of hopeless, and four days later I had my Mac back, everything restored and the thing working better than ever. What a relief! This guy could be a therapist. :)

We contacted Matt for a hard drive Issue with a 27 inch Mac. He showed up at the house quickly ran test and made the correct determination of needed repairs. To save time he took the Mac to his shop to make repairs and brought back the Mac all better and much faster. Matt really goes out of his way to make sure his clients are 100% happy. Where do I start with Matt & Mac Help OC? Let me first start by saying that Matt is truly a "Mac Saint" in every aspect of the word. Our family has used Matt's services for years (iMac rebuilds, data recovery, hard drive upgrades, etc) and he has surpassed expectations every time. Matt is awesome. After the Apple store wanted two weeks to replace a hard drive, I called Matt at Mac Help OC. Not only did Matt do it in two days, but he installed a bigger and faster hard drive from the same manufacturer as the original (Seagate) AND for less money!
He also did many extras for free. He updated the operating system and added a useful diagnostic tool at no charge.
When I went to pick up the iMac, Matt noted some chipping on the edge of the glass screen and asked if it was there before or whether it happened in his shop. I replied it was not there previously. Matt immediately

Had my lap top for 2 weeks...different quotes. Came to pick up and still wasn't ready. All he had to do was replace the trackpad. Second repair with the same problem. he never fixed it. Went to another place, screws were missing from track pad and he stripped a screw and had to replace the whole housing unit. I do not recommend!!

I went to Mac Help OC this week and had my computer and phone fixed by Matt. I went to a couple other places before finding them. Both other places said they could not fix my phone, and wanted to much to fix my computer... When I brought it to Matt, he quoted me a reasonable price for both. He called the next day and I went to pick them up and was very happy. Top-notch service and pricing. I don't know why yelp says that they are closed, because they are open for business!... I highly recommend them to everyone. They rock!

Love this place. Not sure why it says on yelp that it's closed , it's very much open! I've been here numerous times over the years with my iPhone and now with a Mac air laptop that my daughter just spilled juice all over . My husband was super Impressed by how well he fixed the Computer and even updated the battery and system. Runs like new. Matt is really cool and communicates very well. My mom also drives from Hb to see him too because he does such a great job.

Has a very cute dog too that comes to work with him which is so nice. Your phone will look brand new. My screen cracked really badly and I brought it in with no appointment and he fixed it same day.

I am a pretty technical guy, so when my wife's SSD had some issues in her MacBook Air, I did as many diagnostics as I could think of. After a couple hours, I called Apple Care and they did the same stuff after waiting for 30 mins on hold.
Then I went to the Apple Store and they ran some of the same tests but were more focused with selling me a new SSD. They had no interest in getting the data off and short of just trying to reinstall the OS from the boot partition they did nothing.
Cost estimate from Apple for the new SSD: $750.
The referred me to Ontrack which wanted

When I say that afterward when I picked up my MacBook, the screen was "shattered." That's a bit closer to truth. I mean, it was. It really was! Yet, again, "shattered" doesn't seem to rightly imply the impact that, upon opening, drove splinters of glass to rain upon my feet.
The embarrassing truth is that my MacBook slid from atop my SUV...while I was driving. Right turn, full throttle--it abandoned its perch and smashed onto the street
