I drop 2 items off to have alterations done and it was not ready as discuss and no one called to advise it was not going to be ready and I lived 45 minutes away. Then when it was complete the alterations had uneven sewing and when brought to their attention they told me it wouldn’t make a difference . If someone is paying for service it should be done correctly and if not then a discount should be provided. They still charge $120.00 and I was not happy with the uneven sewing and the items fit different due to unevenness .

INCREDIBLE! Dorca saved my wedding dress that was too tight after a year and a half of postponing and gaining pandemic weight. I had a meltdown and was recommended I come to Dorca. She was soooo professional and encouraging and very quick. My wedding dress is stunning now and fits like a glove. Plus, she even fixed a bad bustle my last seamstress did at another place. I also had her alter two more pieces for the wedding and everything was flawless.
I recommend her to everyone now and every other customer I’ve met in passing seems to love her work too.

Dorca’s did an amazing job with altering my lace wedding dress. When I tried it on a few weeks before my wedding I decided I wanted it hemmed and she got me in right away. She helped me decide between a couple of hem and bussel options. When I went to pick it up, we decided it needed to be hemmed a little more. She offered to work on it right then because it was so close to my wedding day and they were going to be closed but I said to keep it and she had it ready for me Tuesday morning. I was worried about ruining the look and pattern but it still looked perfect! So happy I went there!

I just wanted to give the highest praise possible to the amazing ladies at Dorcas!!!! My cousin found out on her wedding day that her dress had NOT been steamed by the bridal shop. I made a few calls and Dorcas was the only place that stepped up to the challenge. They were so kind enough to steam her dress EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE CLOSED!!! I came to Dorca's because I needed to get a bridesmaid dress altered. Dorca's has been around forever, I actually got my homecoming dress altered here when I was in high-school- crazy!
I brought the dress in and just needed to get a few inches off the bottom and shorten the straps at the top. She gave me a 3 week turnaround. 3 weeks later I went to pick it up and it fit perfectly! It ended up costing $75. Not sure if that's a typical price or what, but seemed reasonable to me.
If you're looking for alterations, I highly recommend Dorca's!

Phenomenal work and service! She worked magic on my too small, very fitted wedding dress. I don’t know how she found extra room but she did and even gained some needed length in the process. She was thorough, and at each fitting I wanted something taken in or changed which she was more than willing to do. She also has a great eye if you ask her opinion on length/fit etc. Her pricing is more than fair, especially for the Tampa area! I B can’t recommend her enough:)

She is the sweetest person and did a phenomenal job on my dress, I have absolutely no complaints! She was incredibly easy to work with and very responsive any time I called and asked questions. Dorca did an amazing job recreating my mother's wedding dress into my wedding dress! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and it was a complete transformation. I've been back many times for alterations and even had a dress handmade by her! She is a true talent and a very nice person to work with! Would definitely recommend.

Dorca's has nice, cordial, and professional service. Its challenging to find a tailor who you can trust but I feel confident with this business.

Dorcas's will remain in my heart forever! I went into Dorcas many months ago asking for my wedding dress to be created by scratch. I wasn't sure if this was something that they could make happen but after looking at one picture the owner said to me, "sure I can make that happen" and happened is what she did. I brought in the materials she need (picking the texture, color, and lining) and from there the magic happened! This dress was exactly what I had always imagined! Has to have a costume made. I gave her the design, bought al the fabric and they measured me up. Costume fit perfectly when I came to pick it up. I didn't even know what to do with the sequins I bought and she placed them perfectly on her own. I was worried that maybe something would get missed but she was a pro and designed it herself. I'm happy about the whole process and the final results. I'll be back for sure

Dorcas's truly left me speechless! My wedding gown needed alternations as well as customizing and I must say after leaving my dress here and seeing the finished product ... I was mesmerized! My dress was everything I dreamed it would be! Dorcas's alterations made sure my dress hugged all of my curves and let's not forgot about how she totally went above and beyond on my custom train and veil! I am so glad that I went here. It only took three trips to have my wedding dress shortened, to have the top taken in, to alter the straps, to have it bustled, etc. Not only was the work perfect but Dorca went out of her way for me. My dress was being altered during Irma, remember how we had absolutely no idea what was going to happen?? The shop was closed but Dorca opened to give me my dress to keep safe during the storm. Although the storm came and went, the gesture meant so much to me. Especially when people were fleeing the state! I would recommend this place to absolutely everyone. Customer

Having Dorcas's alter my wedding dress was the best decision I could have made. From start to finish she payed attention to every detail and her work was impeccable. I had a full gown and a lot of beading around the neck line and she made the dress look even better then when I bought it. The length had to be taken up and the top had to be taken in and it all fit perfect so perfect!!! I was so incredibly happy with the finished product. One of the most enjoyable things about the entire experience was going in to see Dorcas. She is the nicest woman I have ever met and made me feel so special each

I've taken numerous items to Dorca's, including my wedding dress. On two separate occasions, I brought a few items here and there before I decided to bring my wedding dress. Overall, I've had the works done: pant legs hemmed and waists taken in, silk skirts taken in and hemmed, blouse and dress straps shortened and then, a formal wedding gown taken in. I had a bridesmaid's dress that needed several alterations (bust, waist, hips, length). There was wiring in the front of the dress to keep the shape, so I wanted to take it to someone who was experienced and would do a good job. After seeing good reviews went in twice, first time with 2 shorts needing stitching, and 2 dress pants, one requiring stitching and one hemming. Advised the girl in front that the hem length should be the same as the other pair. When got back the shorts were stitched very well and the dress pants stitched, but no work done on hem. Only charged $20 which was still great price for the 3.

I had a wonderful experience at Dorcas. I had several dress pants that needed to be altered, plus a handmade evening gown with very heavy beading/stone work. Her alterations to the pants were the best I have ever had. I was worried that she wouldn't be able to do much with the dress because of the beading, but I underestimated her skills. She was able to cinch in the waist, shorten the length while opening the gown up to reveal a nice amount of leg, and she changed the lumpy 3-button shoulder closure into a nice, super flat zipper closure that now is practically invisible on my skin.

Dorcas's is great. I bought a tuxedo on Black Friday and finally decided to get it altered. I wasn't about to just take it to a random alterations tailor though. (Shouts to the Yelpers who pioneered a path to this business.) Despite such reviews from fellow Yelpers, I had to test the product.
