Built in 1940 the Diamond Inn Motel (then it was called the Desert Isle Motel), is one of the oldest buildings still standing on the strip, which several decades ago the strip was called Arrowhead Highway/Highway 91. The first hotel/casino built on the strip was called the El Rancho Vegas Hotel & Casino built in 1941.
Later in the '40's and 50's, dozens of motels were built next door, the Mirage, Lone Palm, Desert Rose and many others that were the high points of Old Vegas with their glittering neon signs. The Diamond Inn is still standing proud and operating with a profit after all these years, along with its colorful history (especially the landmark, iconic Pink Elephant)!

Seeing that I have been paying them rent daily at 60 80 or 100 since march( minus a week or two here or there that I wasn't there) and they still made me check out all of a sudden two days ago because I didn't have rent in time but every other day they had allowed me to pay atv12 or 1. The manager Mike wears the same outfit daily and is a here to say the least .

Sobhere is the real scoop about the place the doors to the rooms are about as safe as a bathroom door in any run of the mill apartment. a 5 yearold could punch a hole through it as well as the lock on the door can be easily bypassed useing a player's card, ID or any other hard plastic kind of card. Diamond inn is conviently located in the mists of tons of hookers, druggies, waiting to rob you for what ever they think is a come up. anyone can get a room here without a problem. friendly security too the night gard kept trying to sell me weed as he was walking the property talking to all the working

The front desk people were sort of accommodating but not friendly. The day girl said to call to check on a room. I called 3 times and she said there were still no rooms. I drove to the DI and the swing girl checked me in to a room. At 1/2 the price you get what you pay for. The remote I put down a deposit for didn't work but the bed was clean and comfortable and the water was hot.

It's a good place to stay because it's on the strip but it's super old and outdated. It doesn't require a credit card and/or outrageous deposit. Only a $20 key deposit you get back when you return the key at check-out. I've stayed in many of the rooms and there doesn't seem to be any rodent or insect issues! The staff is very nice and understanding. The owner also! So it has a few cosmetic issues that could be fixed but all in all its a great place. And don't forget about the huge iconic Pink Elephant in the front yard!!

So this place has a warm spot on my heart ❤ only cause ive made some great memories here wink -wink and the couple that do the cleaning and maintenance around there are great people i once lost my wallet and they helped me go through the dumpster cause I thought I might have accidentally thrown it out they took the time away from there work to help me which was nice and selfless. Now as far as the ATM in the office it charges you $20 fee when most ATM's charge the most on the strip like $7.99 so I felt that was kinda sneaky but it's a real quiet place deposit is $20 cash and no resort fee check

Historic Place built in the 40's...so...
That being said...
Pro: Only $20 cash deposit, helpful and super friendly staff, large rooms, on "The Strip" and Bonus!... a giant Pink Elephant in front of the pool.
Con: $80 per night for severely run down property (housekeeping can't keep up, try as they might,) no refrigerators, no dressers or place to hang clothes, loud military and tour helicopters flying over multiple times each day, many non-resident questionable characters on property (which we heard was due to rental by the hour, can not verify this tho.)
