Few things in life are as important as establishing and maintaining custody of one's children. As such, it is imperative that separated parents obtain a correct and proper child custody order quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, too often that is much easier said than done. Physical custody, legal custody and visitation rights are among the most common issues to be resolved.
Under California law, both parents have a legal responsibility to provide financially for their children. The state has adopted a complicated mathematical formula which judicial officers use to calculate and order child support. The living expenses of each parent are generally not considered by the Court in establishing a child support order and are largely irrelevant to the equation.
In California, once you are married, marital status can only be modified by a dissolution (divorce) which terminates the marriage, an annulment which voids the marriage, as though it never occurred, or a legal separation which allows for the marital community to be divided up, without the marriage actually terminating.
There are unfortunate and tragic family law situations that involve acts of domestic violence and abuse. Domestic violence and abuse is never acceptable. At the Law Office of Cameron M. Once a court order has been made, it is sometimes difficult to obtain compliance of that order by one or both parties. For the past four years I have been in a nasty and very difficult divorce. My case has many different aspects, which would make any normal person’s head spin. Cameron Fernandez is truly one-of-a-kind. He defies all of the lawyer jokes implying lawyers don't have a heart. If anyone entered family law for the right reason, it's Cameron.
