When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden on your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
At Woodlawn Funeral Home, we want to make arrangements simple for you. We offer a huge variety of containers and traditional caskets designed to meet your unique and personal needs but we'll be happy to go over your options and answer any questions that you may have. If you are looking for something in particular, please let us know.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

I met with Susan from Woodlawn to prepare and eventually finalize wake and funeral plans for my boyfriend. She made a very stressful situation much easier. When I was 2 hours late for an appointment, she waited. Every accommodation I needed during this time, she provided. The rest of the staff was polite and sincere. Their presence and guidance getting ready for the funeral procession and the funeral itself allowed the family to focus on what was most important at the time and not the details needed to make it happen. Professional, kind and compassionate sums up my entire experience with them.
