This unique adaptation of the classic story uses only two actors, one playing Scrooge, the other playing Charles Dickens. Dickens then transforms himself into all of the other characters, interacting with Scrooge while also conjuring up each new scene. Five years ago, a group of Trenton students spent their summer creating a sculpture entitled "Helping Hands."
They learned the skills necessary to build something out of nothing with the promise of their work being publicly displayed in their community. Four days after installation, the sculpture was removed due to anonymous complaints that the piece too closely resembled a gang symbol. For over thirty years, Passage has delivered outstanding programs to the Greater Trenton communities.

Passage's educational programming invites youth and adults of all ages and backgrounds to explore, fully realize, and share their greatest creative potential and the potential of the community through the power of expression - onstage, in the classroom, and in their neighborhoods. Our Theatre for Families and Young Audiences Shows are geared towards students in elementary or middle school and focus on themes that affect the youth in our area.
Passage's PlayLab creates and develops new work in order to advance and diversify the art-form and our collective culture, affording emerging and established playwrights a platform for sharing diverse perspectives on complex and important issues. Through our work, Passage patrons have had the opportunity to see the world premiere productions of 23 plays and counting!
The Mill Hill Playhouse is owned by the City of Trenton. Therefore, use of the space is free to members of the Trenton Community. However, the equipment in the Playhouse is owned by Passage Theatre, and does require upkeep and maintenance. Therefore, there is a small rental fee for using our equipment and staff time.

Charming playhouse located in the heart of Trenton. This organization offers an extensive range of varied productions; with unique narratives presented by professional artists in this beautiful renovated historic church. This moderate sized theatrical space allows for intimate performances with raw emotion. Passage is a staple within the Trenton community, actively involved giving back through community partnerships. The theatre is one of the finest places to visit when in the Trenton area.

Absolutely the best small theater in NJ! The space itself is lovely and inviting, and with 99 seats, there's no bad seat in the house. The artistic direction is superb, often with a social justice spin. This year's Caged, was one of the most profound plays produced anywhere, and received multiple Barrymore nominations (and will hopefully win). Everything they do is worth checking out.

This is a place that is worth being a member...for both the theater performances and the film festivals. We have been coming for years. First run or newly developed plays are very well done. The film festivals reflect some of the best short and international films in the business. In ten years we have always enjoyed our experience here.

I came here for the Trenton International Film Festival and was so excited about the wonderful venue that this little stone church housed inside. The theater is small, but not tight, the ceiling are surprisingly high for such a small looking structure from the outside.
The had a small refreshment stand inside, with a very friendly attendant and terrible coffee. If there was some wine offered, I would most definitely make this review a 5 star one.
The parking situation was probably the most disappointing, on the website and in person they are very shady about where you can park. The theater itself

I love this small intimate theatre! This was my third time at the theatre. All of the plays that I've seen here were great! The acoustics were great I could see the stage no matter where my seating was(I'm not the tallest person either). The staff is friendly. This place is worth a trip into Trenton! Check it out...only suggestion is better selection of refreshments.
