A safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel better - no matter what your age or condition? In 1926, German-born Joseph H. Pilates brought his method of physical and mental conditioning to the United States. His work with injured soldiers in WWI, dancers in NYC, and all other walks of life led to the development of this unique and unparalleled method of exercise, which he called Contrology.
What should I wear to a lesson or class? Wear comfortable clothing that is not too baggy. While on the machines and mat, you will not need shoes or socks. Most students wear a tank top or t-shirt and leggings or yoga pants. 2. What if I can't do the movements or it is too hard? Pilates does not require strength, coordination, flexibility, or previous experience in similar areas.
