Tufts Medical Center's proud and distinguished tradition began in 1796, when a group of public-spirited Bostonians, including patriots Paul Revere and Samuel Adams, established the Boston Dispensary as the third permanent medical facility in the country and the first New England.
The Dispensary's founders funded tickets that enabled the city's poor to receive medical care; one of the original tickets signed by Revere can still be seen today at the Massachusetts Historical Society.Using the Bible's "Good Samaritan" parable as its model, the Dispensary grew rapidly and continued to find new and innovative ways to care for the city's underserved working and poor population.

Doctors and staff is nice but they never send the results to the patients. If you don't call you never know about your results. And the billing system is awful. They send seperate bills for every single thing as an sms and hardcopy. The patient portal doesn't work. I'm so disappointed with Tufts Medical Center👎

I would give a 0 star if I could. Trying to book an appt urgently but the lady on the phone told me that my primary care doctor doesn’t match my insurance even though I’ve been seeing my doctor here for almost a year and no one has mentioned that’s an issue before…not to mention how rude, utterly unhelpful and astonishingly cold she sounded. Plus for the record I just was able to book an appt here two days ago through another lady- unbelievable! Is that how we deserved to be treated when we are already sick??? Don’t have your pcp here unless you want to get sicker before you even get

If you have a high deductible plan best to avoid this facility. It's important to realize they charge you a medical center/hospital charge in addition to whatever your physician charges are even though this facility seems anything but a hospital. They aren't upfront about the amount of this additional hospital charge and tuck the mention of it into the bottom of the financial agreement you need to sign as you check in for your appointment.

I have had many issues with customer service. Usually when they say they will do something they don't. It seems they lack the proper training to guide clients. I have also been told conflicting information many times. It made the experience very difficult.
I was surprised how high the cost of the service is, I could have never imagined such a high cost for a consultation. I was also double billed, a mistake I had to call in for and file a dispute. I was explained that the 3rd party financial services are not aware when a client makes a payment in the hospital (I'm not sure why they wouldn't have

From explaining what their doing to playing Christmas music and decorating his room. I will forever appreciate what they did for my family. Patient portal is not working for months now. Scheduling online appointment is a pure fiction. You will never get any confirmation or follow up email/call after apointment date is submited. To get a MD to see you takes on average two months, unless you opt for a registered nurse. My primary care physician accepts new patients, according to TUFTS primary care web site section, but I, as an existing patient, can not make an appointment. To get a live person to speak on the phone with you is like winning a lottery. Dediced to move from this hospital and find a primary care physician (and other specialists

Great hospital. Doctors/surgeons are excellent. OR. PACU Nurses are great. Nurses and Nurse Technicans are very good and extremely helpful. Inpatient food is even very good. Only down side is the TV, one of the only things to do while in hospital, not only are the TVs very small but the few available channels are horrible!

Please go elsewhere. This hospital is not state of the art or current. I have had to file complaints repeatedly to get the incompetent and unprofessional staff to do their actual jobs. The buildings, hospital rooms and waiting rooms are long overdue for a make over. Hold times are exceedingly long, you simply can't get anyone on the phone or follow up without calling repeatedly. Calling there is a job in and of itself. Some of the Dr's are arrogant, defiant and incompetant. Some of the Dr's are elderly bordering being senile.
