Craig's Cake Shop's mini cakes are the perfect solution to satisfy your last-minute sweet tooth with 4-5 servings each. Each 4 cake is hand-baked to perfection and available for pickup from our Verona shop at any time during business hours for just $16-$18. We use our light and fluffy mousse fillings as frosting and finish each cake with dark or white chocolate curls.
Our cupcakes are just as delicious and beautiful as our full-sized cakes - and by opting for these smaller 2 treats, you can give your guests a variety of flavors to choose from. Craig's will be doing our wedding cake. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've had to change our wedding date not once but twice. The first time, not only did they respond promptly changing the booking, but they also invited us to pick up, at no charge, a mini-cake on the date on which our wedding was supposed to take place, to commemorate what was supposed to be our big day of celebration.
We have no doubt our cake will be delicious - we've been to the tasting already, and their options are out of this world - and gorgeous, and of course we'll update once we have had the cake itself, when our wedding

Craig's has been a staple in our house for years, beginning back in 2014 for our wedding. Since then, we've ordered many birthday and other celebratory cakes. Craig's cakes are not only delicious, but also beautifully decorated! I love the many different flavor options to choose from. My favorite is peach, although any other choice is equally as yummy. The best part about getting a wedding cake from them is that on your first anniversary, you can call and get a fresh top tier made, instead of trying to freeze the original as is tradition. We wanted a special cake for my baby's first birthday. We were hosting on a Badger football Saturday so we really wanted a Bucky cake. We found Craig's has the official licenses to reproduce the UW copyright images like Bucky and the motion W. Got a round red velvet cake and everyone said it was moist and delicious. Baby got a free Smash cake that was plain vanilla with whipped cream frosting - it was huge! Very happy with my purchase.

Amazing wedding cakes! My daughter and fiancee (now wife) started this process by picking up a huge plate of samples. We had a fun time tasting all of the different combinations and selected 3 cake flavors with their wonderful mousse fillings and delicious signature frosting. The brides liked the budget friendly idea of having a smaller cake to cut and variety of "backroom" sheet cakes to have the caterer cut to serve on a cake table for guests to pick from. Each slice was HUGE! The cakes and the mousse fillings were outstanding! We received so many compliments on their wedding cake selections

I have learned over the years that I have zero talent for cake decorating. I make a mess of my kitchen, scream internally for hours, and end up presenting something that looks like it belongs on “Nailed It”. My life is much happier now that I leave the cakes to the professionals. Craig’s does perfect sponge cakes, flavorful and not too sweet, the mousse layer is delicious and mind-bogglingly thick, and the decoration is exactly what I ask for. I’ve even called on short notice and they worked with me to figure out what they could put together in time. Worth every penny!

We have gotten numerous cakes from Craig's over the years. 3 weddings, anniversary, birthday and just for no reason. Up until this time it's been great. The cake I ordered for my granddaughter's birthday had a wonderful cake, mousse and filling flavor. I was very, very disappointed in the over abundance of frosting on the cake. We cut most of the frosting off and threw it away. This has never happened before.

Stopped in last minute to try to find a chocolate cake for my husbands birthday. We have been on the hunt for a good chocolate cake... that meets his expectations. It was amazing. Light and fluffy chocolate mouse with excellent moist cake and chocolate curls.
They have 4in cakes stocked in a multitude of flavors (vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, carrot, and a flavor of the month). I am excited to hear they will be expanding to bigger cakes after a remodel. The lady helping me went out of her way to make sure I got what I needed. What a hidden gem of a place! Cannot wait to try another flavor soon

Craig's Cake Shop made the cake for our wedding in August 2021. I heard from many guests how great the cake was. We had a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and the guests loved it. There was a mix up with our florist and the cake flowers, but Craig's improvised, clipped some extra greens from our head table, added a few flowers and it looked exactly how we wanted. They truly went above and beyond and I would highly recommend them!

I got 8” Lemon poppy seed cake and it was awesome. But the cake got almost 4 inch frosting between the layers. Certainly that’s too much than the cake itself. The cake is very light or too fluffy but tastes good. It looks like the cake got the weight with all that frostings in between and the top layer. There is no doubt about the taste but not sure if that’s the way they make cakes to look big enough and great.
I can finish my big church of cake with 2 or 3 bites if there was no frosting.

With one tier we went with the lemon poppy seed with the lemon poppy seed icing and it was unbelievable. They also did a great job of staying in communication with us and even gave us a free cake for our wedding anniversary!

We were blown away with Craig's Cake Shop and all they did to make our wedding day special! We got to spend an evening tasting wedding cakes and customizing our cake to be exactly the style and flavor we wanted. The quality of the cake and frosting is unmatched in my opinion and tasted like a top-tier gourmet cake. They sent us 12 cupcakes for free after we had to postpone our wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic and have a cute deal of sending the wedding couple a free cake on their one year anniversary. Got my 18th Birthday cake from here. It was yummy and beautiful!! The layers are lemon poppyseed cake, raspberry cheesecake mousse, vanilla cake, lemon curd, vanilla cake. I was disappointed with the frosting. It should've have been a huge surprise because I'm not that big of a buttercream fan but the vanilla buttercream was way too sweet for me and my family (and it was very thick). I wish we'd gone with the signature whipped cream frosting but the ombré sides design wouldn't have worked out with that. Will have to try a 4" or cake push up pop with the whipped cream frosting

Super Delicious! The signature frosting is light and creamy with chocolate curls for texture. I hate buttercream but I love this frosting. The cake was moist and had great crumb. Want a sneak taste? You can get a cake push up pop which is a perfect representation of their regular cakes. I never want a traditional cake pop again.

I ordered a birthday cake from Craig's for my friend's birthday and it was excellent. The staff was very helpful translating my (probably vague) direction via telephone into the perfect cake. Picking up my cake was super easy and they brought it right to my car to ease my COVID concerns. Most importantly, the cake was delicious - maybe the best cake I've ever tasted - and looked great. I would highly recommend Craig's to anyone in the Madison area who needs a cake.

This place exceeded my expectations. It's a little far from downtown madison but worth the drive. I called 5 days before I needed a cake that would serve 50 people and it was no issue to get exactly what I wanted. They did a contactless delivery in nice packaging ( I felt bad I didn't have cash to tip; they deserved it ) at the bridal shower I hosted almost everyone who tried the cake was wondering where I got it. It was so delicious and looked gorgeous. I got the mocha filling with the shaved sides and chocolate. It was literally melt in your mouth good. If I ever need a cake again,

Craig's Cake Shop came recommended from several colleagues and they did not disappoint! We were celebrating my daughter's first birthday and wanted a special cake for our guests that all traveled from out of town. They were very helpful in selecting not only the size for our party but flavor combinations as well. We ended up choosing a vanilla cake with whipped vanilla filling and layer of strawberry jam. The frosting was buttercream top with signature sides. I let them know the wording for the top and pink/gold for colors, but I let them choose how it all looked. THE CAKE DID NOT DISAPPOINT

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but Craig's Cakes takes the cake in terms of bakeries. Pun intended... I'm sorry. My first trip to Craig's was with my then fiancé, now husband to sample cakes for our wedding. It was nearly impossible to choose, because every flavor was delicious. Once we made our selection, I showed them a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like, and they did it PERFECTLY (see photos). We had a special cake design for a teenager who wanted specific things, so we had to find a cake shop with the skill level to accurately create what would definitely be considered a masterpiece. Said teenager sketched what they wanted the cake to look like, and we presented the idea to the staff at Craig's exactly 7 days before the actual event.
They were excited to do this project, and were good at communicating.
In the end, we had a seriously cool dragon cake for a very happy teenager. It was one of those situations where it was so artistically well done, it seemed like a shame to cut

This is my favorite cake shop! I have bought numerous cakes from them and have never been disappointed. My favorite combination is white cake, cheese cake mouse, and cherry pie filling with the standard shaved white chocolate frosting! My second favorite flavor combination is lemon poppy seed cake, blueberry filling, and the standard shaved white chocolate frosting. They also have small cakes that you can walk in and buy as well as "cake push up pops". So delicious.

When I went to pick it up, the cake had been made perfectly. Since I picked it up a couple of days before the event, I was concerned about it getting soggy, or picking up food odor from the fridge. She recommended using a plastic bag to keep the odor out, which worked very well.
The cake itself was delicious! nothing too fancy, but it was a big hit at the party. I would definitely buy here again.

Last week, I picked up my fiance's birthday cake: 6 inch chocolate and vanilla cake peanut butter mousse and fudge filling with their signature frosting. So delicious! As expected, the cake layers were moist and not too dense; the peanut butter mousse was so light and had just enough of a kick to give the cake the flavor we wanted, and the fudge was not overpowering. The best part is making sure every bite had the signature frosting (whipped cream and white chocolate shavings)--each bite was so good.
