All classes are still open except Wed. The goal of the teachers and staff at SBDS is to provide an atmosphere of kindness and compassion in order to allow each student to reach his or her potential in the dance arts of Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. It is our philosophy to nurture and build the self esteem of each student, regardless of natural talent and ability, in order to attain a sense of accomplishment, poise, and positive self worth.

Our staff knows how to dance! With a record of over 48 years of dance instruction in the Omaha area and over 30 years in competitions, we have what it takes to teach your student. We cannot over-emphasize our goal of having each and every child leave our studio with a positive experience. We want to give the student and their families an experience to remember for a lifetime.
Our competition team at SBDS consists of hard working dancers who enjoy performing on stage several times a year. We create an experience for our competitive dancers that involves vigilant training and knowledge of skill, passion, camaraderie and building up self confidence.
Since 1991, Shannon Barnhart Dance Company has been competing in over 30 different states across the US, earning hundreds of different awards including Choreography Achievement awards and cash prizes.Any dancer is able to try out for our company during our tryouts held in June each year. Dancers must be at least 7 years of age.

Our Annual Recital takes place every June, where all students have the opportunity to showcase their talents and dance routines that they have learned throughout the season. Students get a DVD of the show of their choice, a recital shirt and unlimited admission to the show! We typically have three shows.
SBDS is a top notch dance studio, teaching beautiful technique in a wide variety of dance styles. But SBDS is so much more than just a dance studio and teaches kids more than just dance. Students at SBDS gain self confidence, discipline, respect, fun and friendships.
