Services
Joe and Martha Cordova were both born in small villages in northern Mexico and arrived in Encinitas in 1973, with not much more than dreams of owning a retail garden/nursery business and a willingness and hope to work hard and provide a better life for their family. Cordova Greenhouses was built in 1987 and was the first wholesale greenhouse operation in Encinitas to open to the public (with out a minimum purchase).
My wife is a real estate broker and occasionally asks me to put together creative plantings as gifts for clients. Cordova Gardens is the perfect spot for finding what I need. They have a really good selection of artsy, high quality ceramic pots and unlike most nurseries they also have a several thousand foot green house filled with tropical house plants.
In addition to our amazing on site inventory, our customers are able to order anything made by the manufacturers we represent below. These manufactures do not sell to the general public, so take advantage of our special order process and receive unique pricing opportunities. Call or email Cordova Gardens with the manufacturer name, item number of the product to be ordered, as well as the color it is to be ordered in.
We often reach out through our Newsletter to our Garden community friends and families, to announce new garden art arrivals from far away countries. We enjoy keeping in touch with helpful gardening and decorating tips. We continuously cultivate an educational experience on plant health, maintaining soil performance, water conservation, and simply maintaining beautiful yard space.

I got scammed. I was excited to find a scindapsus silver exotica for $30 but after I got home I realized it was $35. I am positive I seen a $30 tag on it and confirmed with my spouse. Very weird... and the man started packing up the plant before we paid and he didn't even greet us. (He might be the owner but he was being unfriendly).
I also got a tiny 4 inch small single leaf hoya kerri variegated with brand new growth sprouting for $30! because the tag was ripped off. I assumed it was $15 because the other ones were. And a 4 inch baby snake plant for $7.50. For a total of $72.50 in cash. Prices

This is one of the best nurseries I know of in Northern or Southern Ca. They have an outstanding selection of common and unusual or hard-to-find plants - often in small and larger sizes. I especially appreciate their selection of cactus, succulents, bromeliads, orchids and houseplants. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you are a fan of plants and find yourself in the neighborhood, you must stop in. Highly recommended.

This nursery is wonderful! Huge variety of house plants, many I'd never seen before and all so healthy. Plan to spend some time there exploring, it's kind of a botanical gardens experience with the variety of patterns and colors. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell it's family owned which in this day of big box stores, is appreciated. The dog and parrot on site are friendly touches.

This is not a quick stop shop. This is a haven for gardeners....from statuary to pottery, to seating, to fountains to thousands of plants. Plan to spend close to an hour your first trip, that is if you want to immerse yourself in the beauty. The prices are extremely reasonable, and likely you will find a plant of your choosing in various stages of growth. Owners are pleasant while not being invasive. We were greeted but not followed around or asked a bunch of annoying questions. Wonderful shopping experience!
