Mental Health America of Greater Tarrant County believes in building awareness of mental wellness within the community. We strive to provide knowledge and outreach which aid to improve the lives of those we serve by helping them to remember their true nature and resilience. We want to give you an update on our agency.

We remain an independent, nonprofit agency, focused on mental health in Tarrant County. We are undergoing change as we determine what role we want to have in supporting mental wellness in our community. For the last few years we have focused our work on supporting peers and the Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Team, both in partnership with My Health My Resources (MHMR) of Tarrant County.
Services
LOSS Team is a joint effort of Mental Health America of Greater Tarrant County, MHMR of Tarrant County and local police departments providing local outreach to suicide survivors. The purpose of LOSS Team is to provide support and resources, as well as an installation of hope, to survivors as close to the time of their loss as possible.
There are many resources available for locating therpists, counselors, support groups, educational programs, and a variety of additional services. You can call 2-1-1, MHMR's 24 Hour Call Center, search on the Tarrant Cares website if you need help finding a resource. We have an extensive database of community resources for mental health.
Mental Health America of Greater Tarrant County is committed to advocate for issues which directly affect you. All MHA committees and coalitions are open to anyone interested. Mental health consumers and family members are especially encouraged to participate. The Suicide Prevention Coalition emphasizes primary prevention by helping to reduce the factors that put people at risk and by preventing suicide before it occurs.
Mental Health America of Greater Tarrant County is the Mental Health Service Navigation point for mental health needs in our community. MHA is also the self-help clearinghouse for ALL types of self-help and support groups in the area, not just mental health. Please try searching the Tarrant Cares website for mental health and behavioral health resources in Tarrant County.
Tarrant County students pursuing careers in the field of mental health and wellness are awarded scholarships annually; one scholarship* is awarded each semester. Rupert and Elizabeth Pownder established The Patricia Pownder Connolly Memorial Scholarship in memory of their daughter. This scholarship is designed for students pursuing a degree in the mental health field.

Approached Mental Health America of Greater Tarrant County for my daughter's remedial therapy. It was very beneficial. The results can be seen of their medication.

A very good place to visit for medication if you are suffering from any mental syndrome. The staff is very helpful and caring . Would definitely recommend this health center for mental health medication.
